P90x Day 50, Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X

Today was day 50 of my P90x workout. The workout for today was back and biceps followed by ab ripper x. The back and biceps workout kills the biceps. There are tons of curls and pull ups in this workout. There are several different variations of pulls ups that are done in this workout and one of the toughest ones is the towel pull up. To do this move, you throw a towel over the pull up bar so it is folded in half and hangs down. Then you grab the towel with one hand and the pull up bar with the other hand and do pull ups. You do 3 pull ups, then switch the towel to the other hand and do three on that side and keep going until you can’t go anymore, these are some tough pull ups.

After the back and biceps workout was ab ripper x. I can feel the results of ab ripper x. My stomach muscles feel harder and stronger. This is a tough workout but it gets a little easier each time I do it. there are a few small variations you can do to make the move a little easier or harder depending on where you are at in your fitness level.

The video below is of me doing 100 pull ups. Is it real or fake?

My P90x Review Day 49 Plyometrics

Plyometrics Legs

Plyometrics Is The Cure For Chicken Legs

Today was day 49 of my P90x workout and the workout for today was Plyometrics. Tony Horton, the creator of P90x call this “the mother” of all P90x workouts. It is definitely a tough workout but I am much better at it now than I was the first few times I did it. The first couple of weeks I did plyometrics I had to pause the DVD several times to catch my breath. Now I’m able to keep up with the video. Plyometrics is more of a cardio routine, you’ll get your heart rate up and keep it the entire time. If I can remember correctly there are only 4, 30 second breaks the entire hour, well about 48 minutes if you don’t include the 10 minute warm up. At the end of the plyometrics workout, I am always pouring in sweat.

What Should Your Target Heart Rate Be

Heart Rate Monitor

Heart Rate Monitors Take The Guesswork Out Of Cardio

A great way to keep track of your cardio workouts and make sure you are pushing yourself hard enough is a heart rate monitor. Heart rate monitors are always recommend when doing cardio for the simple fact that it take the guesswork out. To find you max heart rate, subtract your age from 220. Then shoot for 60%-75% of your maximum heart to get the best results.

For example a 32 year old would subtract 32 from 220, coming up with 188. 188 would be the max heart rate and that person would shoot for 60%-75% of 188, which is 113-141. So, a 32 year old person should get their heart rate up to 113-141 when doing a cardio workout. This is just an average, you may be higher or lower than this depending on your health and fitness level.

P90x Ab Ribber X Abs

I Bet She Uses P90x Ab Ripper X

Yesterday was day 48 of my P90x workout. It was supposed to be the start of my recovery week but since I screwed up my P90x schedule on weeks 5 and 6 I decided to add another week to this phase before I do the recovery week. I screwed up weeks 5 and 6 by doing the lean P90x schedule instead of the classic schedule so I was missing the back and biceps workout those 2 weeks. It is probably not that big of a deal, like I said, I am going to try to make up for it by adding a week to this phase.

The workout for today was chest, shoulders, and triceps, followed by ab ripper x. I like this workout a lot. I can really feel it in my triceps. By the end of this workout I can barely do a push up and my arms feel like jello. I did the workout almost 24 hours ago and my arms still feel fatigued. The P90x chest, shoulders, and triceps workout is made up of a lot of push ups,  shoulder presses, and tricep extensions. There are 24 different exercises total in this workout and they hit the targeted muscles from every angle imaginable. The P90x chest, shoulders, and triceps DVD is a great workout.

After the chest, shoulders, and triceps workout was ab ripper x. I’ve gotten a lot better in the 7 weeks I’ve been doing ab ripper x. I remember the first time I did it I struggled through the entire workout and wasn’t even close to keeping up with the video and wasn’t doing all the reps they were doing. I’m pretty much there now, I’m able to keep up and complete all the reps. I think I wrote in my first post that my goal in the 90 days was to just be able to keep up with the ab ripper x video, I’m already there in only half the time.  :)

Teachers Becoming Beachbody Coaches

The Beachbody Coach home business is a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting a business they can run from home, especially teachers. Teachers have a distinct advantage over other full time workers. Teachers have summers off. Having the summer off is the perfect opportunity to be able to spend the time you need getting your Beachbody business going. Also, Beachbody allows non-profits to join for free so it is possible that a teacher who becomes a Beachbody Coach could sign up the school,  the athletic department, or even the girls volleyball team, and run a fundraiser with Beachbody products. There have been many teachers that have signed up for the Beachbody business opportunity and have had great success. Below is a video about a former assistant principal and teacher that have had great success as Beachbody Coaches and we’re able to quit there jobs and focus solely on their Beachbody business.

My P90x Review Days 45, 46, and 47

P90x WorkoutYesterday and the day before were very busy for me so I’m just getting to my P90x review posts now. Day 45 of my P90x workout was legs and back, followed by ab ripper x. The P90x legs and back is a very tiring workout. It consists of various forms of lunges and pull ups. The lunge sets have very high reps which is what tires me out. I’m not sure if I like this workout that much. I’d rather stack a bunch of weights on a bar and do 3 sets of 8 reps of squats or deadlifts. But I guess the point of P90x is to change up the workout, confuse the muscles, and keep the body from plateauing.

Day 46 was supposed to be the Kenpo X workout. Kenpo is a cardio workout made up of punches and kicks. It is my least favorite workut and I usually substitute it with a session muay thai kick boxing or jiu-jitsu. I take both classes at a local gym near my house, www.WarriorWay.com. It is sometimes hard to find time do workout and get to a martial arts class, but I’ve been doing my best and am not going to the classes as much while I do P90x.

Today is 47 of P90x and it is the rest or stretch option day, I’m choosing to rest. :)

P90x Goes Political On Us!

In a recent interview, Congressman Paul Ryan talks about how he stays in shape with P90x and leads workout sessions with his colleagues. The politician talks about the P90x workouts and why they are so effective. Paul even talked about how Tony Horton, the creator of P90x comes to Washington D.C. every couple months to train with them. Paul obviously wasn’t paid to mention P90x and speak so highly of it, he genuinely loves it because it produces results.  P90x is becoming more and more popular each day. If it isn’t already, P90x will definitely be a household name in a very short time.

P90x Day 44 Yoga X

Doing A Hard P90x Pose

Me Doing A Tough P90x Yoga Pose

Today is day 44 of my P90x workout. The workout for today was yoga x. I think I’ve hit a plateau with this workout. The very first time I did it I remember it being super hard. I got a little bit better each time I did it over the past few weeks but today seemed just as tough as it was a few weeks ago. This is a tough workout but I like it. I can tell that it is helping with my flexibility and is even improving my performance in my jiu-jitsu classes. I feel kind of funny about posting this picture of myself doing yoga on here, I know for sure my friends are going to make fun of me. Here I am doing one of the more difficult yoga poses of the P90x workout. In the picture you can see the Nintendo Wii box that I use as a Yoga block.   :)

P90x Works For A 45 Year Old Mother Of 7

There are a lot of girls that are wondering if P90x would be too hard, intense, or extreme for them. I’ll admit, the infomercial can make it seem a little scary. In the infomercial you’ll see people doing all kinds of pull ups and crazy push ups where they throw themselves into the air, these are some tough moves. But don’t worry, almost everyone starts out barely able to do 1 pull up. You are able to start off by using the resistance bands or doing a pull up with the help of a chair. Most women don’t have the upper body strength that men have so they will probably start out doing push up on their knees. You have to work your way up to the tougher moves and that takes time. The best part about P90x is that it accommodates everyone and they show all the variations in the video so there is no guess work.  Using P90x really is like having a personal trainer in your own home working out right there with you.

So ladies, there is no reason to be scared and to think P90x will be too hard for you. Check out the video below of Michele. She is a 45 year old mother of seven who has had great success with P90x. Here are Michele’s P90x before and after pictures.

P90x Mother of 7 Before And AfterP90x Mother of 7 Before And After

-This is what Michele had to say about P90x:

“I am the happy mother of seven wonderful kids. Yes, I mean, this stomach has been stretched out to here seven times. And having that many pregnancies was really hard on my body. Now I hadn’t taken good care of myself in years. Sitting up that night, I came across the P90X infomercial again. I realized that I was watching the same infomercial for the third time, and I decided that if I had time to sit and do that, then I had some time to exercise. I love P90X. The workouts are so varied. Every day, I get to do something different . . . And Tony is such a great trainer. He talks you through everything. He helps you modify the moves if you’re not up to them yet. He motivates you and challenges you to just do your best. I have to admit I wasn’t really excited about changing my diet, but I found that following the nutrition plan was so much easier than what I thought it was gonna be. When I started working my body harder, it started asking me for better things to eat. And changing my diet really became more of a natural transition . . . Ladies, don’t be afraid of muscle. If you want a youthful shape that fights gravity and burns extra calories 24/7, you need to build muscle. That’s what’s gonna do it for you.”

P90x Day 43 Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X

Today was day 43 of my P90x workout. The workout for today was back and biceps followed by ab ripper X. This was the first time I did this workout I am a upset that I have been missing it. I’ve written in earlier posts that I was looking at the wrong schedule for a few weeks and doing the P90x lean schedule. The back and biceps workout is not in the lean schedule, at least not for weeks 5-7 so that is why I was missing it. The back and biceps workout is basically a workout made up of pull ups and curls. I did a wide variety of different types of curls and pulls and by the end my arms were exhausted. I wonder if my biceps are going to be sore tomorrow. Is it even possible for biceps to be sore? I don’t think mine have ever been. Anyhow, I like this workout, my forearms and biceps are still throbbing even as I write this.

After the back and bicep workout was ab ripper x. I don’t have much to say about ab ripper x that i haven’t already said in earlier posts. It’s tough, but I’m getting better :)
