What Is Shakeology?

Shakeology Ingredients Removed

Recently a few a few small changes have been made to the greenberry and chocolate Shakeology formulations, but don’t worry, it will still be delicious and super healthy for you.

Blue-green Algae (doesn’t sound that good anyway) has been removed because the brainiacs in lab coats over at Beachbody had concerns about being able to keep up with the growing demand, while still being able to ensure the purity of the ingredient. Coincidentally, while blue-green algae is recognized as a beneficial ingredient in the United States, many other countries are still evaluating it, thus for Beachbody to be able to sell Shakeology in other countries, blue algae needed to be removed.

Whatever the reason blue algae needed to be removed, it is really not that big of a deal. There is no way it will affect the taste, and it is still loaded with tons of other great ingredients. If removing blue-green algae means we’ll be able to move more quickly into international markets, then that is definitely a good thing for me as a Beachbody Coach.

The second ingredient that has been removed from Shakeology is suma root. The reason for this is because for some reason it can show a false positive on a steroid test. The World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) and the National Football League (NFL) recently updated their list for banned substances, and suma root is on it. Totally banning the ingredient will eliminate and confusion and any false test results. Because the use of Shakeology is growing rapidly among high performance athletes, people in the military, and other people who may be subject to being tested for performance enhancing drugs, Beachbody decided to remove the suma root ingredient from the chocolate and greenberry Shakeology formulations. The tropical Shakeology formulation does not contain any of these ingredients therefore it will go unchanged.

Before buying Shakeology, the question everyone wants to know is, does Shakeology taste good? Which is a great question. I mean, who wants to force down a nasty tasting shake? I sure don’t.

Before I answer the question, does Shakeology taste good?, let me tell you a little bit about it. Shakeology is more than just a meal replacement shake. Typically a meal replacement shake is consumed because the user wants to lose weight. So those shakes are low in calories, and provide some nutritional value, but generally not that much. Shakeology is unlike any other shake on the market. While it can be used as a meal replacement shake for those trying to lose weight, it is also used a supplement to provide the daily nutrition your body needs. For example, because I’m not trying to lose weight, I don’t replace a meal with Shakeology, instead I drink it as a midday snack. I get asked the question all of the time, “how does Shakeology work?” This is kind of a vague question, but I think I understand what these people are asking. These people want to know if Shakeology does work, and what exactly is in it that makes it so good for the body?

Shakeology is made up of over 70 high quality ingredients, some of these ingredients are considered “superfoods”.
