As I mentioned previously, I bought uncooked chickpeas in a bag and they took nearly 3 hours to make&#8230;not a fan. Throw in the fact that I dislike spinach and I will not miss this meal going forward.</p><p>Lunch &#8211; Mediterranean Roast Beets over Microgreen Salad (with ONLY 2 Tbsp. nuts or seeds, ¼ sliced avocado, and fresh lemon or lime juice)</p><p><a

Right up there on my list of least favorite foods with Chickpeas and Beets. Add in another 30+ minutes and you have a long day of cooking. I do like steamed vegetables and for this meal, I chose cauliflower and broccoli.</p><p>Again, I know the review of these meals is pretty bleak, but it just turned out that there were three meals in one day that I didn&#8217;t like.</p><p>Thoughts after Day 12:</p><p>12 down, 9 more days to go and then it&#8217;s on to INSANITY!!! I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.</p><p>This was a rough day in regards to the meals&#8230;they took a long time to cook and I didn&#8217;t really like them. I probably should&#8217;ve substituted a Shakeology , but as they say hindsight is 20/20.</p><p><a

I have to admit I&#8217;m getting slightly bored w/the amount of vegetables that are part of the Reset. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I do like most vegetables, but the amount of vegetables you eat during the Reset is extremely high. Also, I&#8217;m looking forward to being able to eat chicken again. I&#8217;m also ready to start working out! I want to start INSANITY now, but I&#8217;m trying my best to remain patient and wait until I&#8217;m finished with the Reset before doing so. class="wp-caption-text">Can P90x Make You Bigger?</p></div><p>A lot of people ask me the question, &#8220;<strong>can P90x make you bigger</strong>?&#8221; This is a valid question. Many people think that the P90x workout program is just for losing weight, but that is not the case. Don&#8217;t get me wrong, if you are overweight, P90x will make you lose weight, but you will also build muscle mass.</p><h2>Will P90x Give Me Big Muscles?</h2><p>P90x is a great program because it can be modified and adjusted to fit any individual&#8217;s fitness goals. For example, during the resistance  moves, if you want to tone your muscles, you would use lighter weight and perform a higher number of repetitions, somewhere around 12-15 to be exact. Typically women will choose to use lighter weights and perform higher reps because they are afraid of &#8220;bulking up&#8221;. Although that theory makes sense, women don&#8217;t necessarily need to worry about &#8220;bulking up&#8221; (<a
href="http://getpaidwithfitness.net/will-p90x-make-a-woman-too-bulky/">read here for more info on this</a>).</p><p>On the flip-side, if you want to <em>get bigger from P90x</em>, you would use heavier weight, and perform a lower amount of  repetitions, somewhere in the ballpark of 8-10 . Tony Horton, the trainer that leads the P90x workouts explains this in all of the works and constantly reminds you that if you want size, you need to be struggling on the sixth, seventh, and eighth rep.</p><h3>Can P90x Make You Bigger? Yes, But&#8230;</h3><p>So <a
style="text-decoration: none; color: black;" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P90x" target="_blank">can P90x make you bigger</a>? The answer is yes, but there a few things you can do to maximize your muscle gain. In my opinion, P90x doesn&#8217;t focus enough on the legs. Sure there is the Legs &amp; Back routine, but that workout consists of higher rep exercises. I feel like the only thing P90x is missing is a heavy leg workout, like squats. One great way to overall better gains would be to incorporate a squat routine in the P90x schedule twice a week, on the same day as the resistance workouts like Chest &amp; Back, and Shoulders &amp; Arms. On those days, you could chose to do a squat sequence of 3 x10, 4 x 5, or 2 x 15. Squats take a lot of energy and just adding this one sequence will make your workouts much harder. I recommend doing squats immediately after the warm-up when you have a lot of energy, then move on to the normal workout.</p><p>I don&#8217;t know the exact specifics of how it all works, but research has shown that doing squats will boost your testosterone and growth hormones, which means you&#8217;ll get better results in your upper body as well. Squatting is just an add on that I think could give you even better results, but if you can&#8217;t do them, its not a big deal. Cooking wise though, it took a decent amount of time to make, therefore, this is a meal that I&#8217;ll probably bypass once the Reset is over.</p><p>Thoughts after Day 10 of the Reset:</p><p>1) I no longer wince at the taste of the Alkalinize and/or the Detox. Yes, neither tastes good, but they&#8217;re both bearable and can be taken in such a little amount of water that they go down in no time.</p><p>2) Week 2 definitely lives up to its name (&#8220;REALEASE&#8221;)&#8230;lol&#8230;before you get scared to start week 2, it&#8217;s not that bad&#8230;I am using the facilities more often than usual though.</p><p>3) I&#8217;m almost halfway through the Reset!!! It feels good to have made it through 10 of the 21 days so far and I&#8217;m seeing and feeling positive results!!! class="wp-caption-text">Beachbody Ultimate Reset Meals</p></div><p>I wasn&#8217;t a big fan of this breakfast meal. The idea of eating soup and chickpeas for breakfast is not for me to begin with. As I ate the meal, the idea became less for me&#8230;haha. As far as preparing this meal, I didn&#8217;t abide by the ingredients list and bought uncooked chickpeas&#8230;bad idea. Cooking the bagged chickpeas took nearly 3 hours. Although I am becoming more open to cooking as the Reset progresses, I&#8217;d rather not spend 3 hours making a meal especially one that I didn&#8217;t really care for.</p><p>Lunch &#8211; Pinto Beans and Rice (1 serving), Microgreen Salad, Creamy Garlic Dressing</p><p>Dinner - Sweet Potato and Roasted Red Pepper Bisque, Asparagus 91 cup)</p><p>The bisque was very good, but took a little time to prepare. I think this is the second serving of asparagus on the Ultimate Reset and I&#8217;m trying to acquire a taste for it, but it&#8217;s not happening.</p><p>Supplements for Day 9:</p><p>This was the second day of drinking the Detox. IMO, the Detox isn&#8217;t as bad as the Alkalinize. For some reason, I&#8217;m still struggling to get the Alkalinize down.</p><p>Thoughts after Day 9:</p><p>9 days down, 12 to go!!! I don&#8217;t know about the rest of you, but when I&#8217;m on a diet, etc, it seems as though the days and weeks go by much slower than when I&#8217;m not. It seems like I&#8217;ve been on the Reset for weeks, when in reality, it&#8217;s only been 9 days. If I had to rank the days so far from 1 to 9, I would probably rank Day 9 as &#8220;9.&#8221; Although I did like the lunch and dinner meals for Day 9, there was no fruit.</p><p>My hunger levels have somewhat decreased and fortunately, I haven&#8217;t really experienced any headaches so that is a positive of the Ultimate Reset.</p><p>I will post my review of Day 10 this afternoon.</p><p>Jimmy</p><p><a

Although I do like salad a lot, I will say this Reset makes the taste of lettuce get old real quick!!! I did switch up the dressing for this week which was a nice change, but I&#8217;m kinda over eating salad. class="wp-caption-text">Ultimate Reset</p></div><p>Now this is more like it!!! Although I&#8217;m not a big fan of zucchini, I do love beans and rice and I love string beans even more! All 3 of these things were easy to make and the string beans w/lemon recipe is one that I will use long after the Reset as it makes the string beans even more delicious than usual!</p><p>Supplements for Day 8:</p><p>All the supplements are the same as week 1, but a &#8220;Detox&#8221; packet is added 3x/day&#8230;before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I&#8217;ve read numerous reviews of people complaining about the taste of the &#8220;Detox,&#8221; but IMO, the &#8220;Alkalanize&#8221; is still worse&#8230;haha.</p><p>Closing out my review of Day 8, here are my 2 favorite things about the Reset so far as well as my 2 least favorite things about the Reset:</p><p><strong>Favorite</strong></p><p>1) I do not like to cook. This is the main reason I&#8217;m overweight, out of shape, etc. Through the 1st 8 days of the Reset, I&#8217;m pleasantly surprised at how easy the recipes are and this is coming from someone who can barely tell the difference between a spoon and a fork&#8230;lol.</p><p>2) I love fruit and this Reset includes eating a lot of fruit so if you&#8217;re a fruit lover like I am, the Reset is definitely for you!!!</p><p><strong>Least Favorite</strong></p><p>1) I understand the importance of drinking water throughout the day, but there has to be something else we can drink that isn&#8217;t bad for you like soda, coffee, etc. Drinking over 100 ounces of water/day is becoming  redundant and my taste buds are yearning for something different.</p><p>2) I&#8217;ve wasted a lot of food on the Reset. The ingredient list for the most part includes portions that are very small so when you use what you need to make a meal, you have a lot left over that won&#8217;t be used again. Headaches can be a side effect of the Ultimate Reset as your body is getting rid of all the toxins so staying hydrated is key to helping keep the headaches to a minimum. I continue to drink a gallon of water (128 ounces) today and will continue to do so for the entirety of the Reset. I got on the scale this morning and I weighed 249 which means I lost 9 lbs suring week one of three of the Reset!</p><p>My energy level was off the charts yesterday. I can&#8217;t remember the last time I felt as good and had as much energy as I did yesterday. It&#8217;s pretty obvious to me that the Reset is working!</p><p>And through the first week of the Reset, I didn&#8217;t have any headaches which is obviously a good thing. After reading through some of the reviews on the Beachbody site, I was somewhat concerned that I would experience headaches, but fortunately, I haven&#8217;t to this point. I&#8217;m assuming this is partially due to the amount of distilled water I&#8217;m drinking on a daily basis.</p><p><strong>GOALS (Reiterated):</strong></p><p>1) Although losing weight is not my main goal of the Reset, I would like to lose 15 lbs after the 21st day and get down to 243.</p><p><strong>UPDATE AFTER WEEK 1 OF THE RESET:  As mentioned above, I weighed in this morning at 249!!! 9 lbs down, 6 to go to reach my goal!</strong></p><p>2) My main goal is to get my body in a better “state” after 21 days as I hope to start INSANITY after finishing the Reset. I tried INSANITY before, but I was in such terrible shape, I only last about 5 days. I’m hoping that after completing this Reset, my body will be better able to handle the INSANITY workouts.</p><p><strong>UPDATE AFTER WEEK 1 OF THE RESET:  As I also mentioned above, I definitely think the Reset is working for me in an effort to achieve this goal. I had so much enery yesterday that I considered running a few miles and running is on my list of top 3 things I hate to do!!!</strong></p><p>3) After the 21 days are complete, I hope to actually enjoy cooking and I hope to have gained a liking for 4-5 meals that are included in the Reset that I can make on a regular basis.</p><p><strong>UPDATE AFTER WEEK 1 OF THE RESET:  Achieving this goal could go either way after the next two weeks&#8230;haha. I will say that I cooked more meals over the past week than I have over the past year. class="wp-caption-text">Ultimate Reset Day 6 Review</p></div><p>Yesterday was Day 6 of the the Beachbody Ultimate Reset, here’s my review.</p><p><strong>MEALS:</strong></p><p>BREAKFAST – Baked Tempeh (3), Whole-Grain Toast (1 slice), Avocado (1/8 sliced), Kale (1/2 cup)</p><p>LUNCH –  Quinoa Salad, Microgreen Salad, Basic Vinaigrette Dressing</p><p>SNACK – Edamame (1 cup)</p><p>DINNER – Root Medley, Zucchini-Cashew Soup (1/2 serving), Brown Rice (1 cup) (substituted for millet)</p><p>Opposite of Day 5, I didn&#8217;t like much on yesterday&#8217;s menu. The Tempeh was kinda blah, the Root Medley was not my thing, and I didn&#8217;t care for the Zucchini soup (I don&#8217;t like zucchini). Other than that, the food for Day 5 was great&#8230;lol. I substituted Brown Rice for Millet because I forgot to grab it when I went to Whole Foods. The bad news is I finally gave in and drank a Diet Mtn Dew. I know, I know, I shouldn&#8217;t have done it, but I did and to be honest, I didn&#8217;t really like it as much as usual. I do like a lot of the food in this Reset so far, but I think some of it lends itself to having a soda craving, at least for me (if that makes sense). I will get back on the train today and deny myself diet soda!</p><p>Now for the good news. I decided to get on the scale this morning and I&#8217;m down to 249!!! So, in the 1st six days of the Ultimate Reset, I&#8217;ve lost 9 lbs! As I stated in my goals section, losing weight is not my main goal in the program, but it is nice to see results in a quantifiable fashion such as weight loss.</p><p>As far as my hunger level today, it was the &#8220;easiest&#8221; day so far in terms of not being hungry throughout the day. I admit that weekends are the toughest for me to eat healthy because I like to lounge around and watch sports on TV which makes me want to eat Chipotle, etc, but I didn&#8217;t crave it yesterday so hopefully this is a good sign going forward.</p><p>My energy level was better yesterday&#8230;hoping this continues as well.</p><p>GOALS (Reiterated):</p><p>1) Although losing weight is not my main goal of the Reset, I would like to lose 15 lbs after the 21st day and get down to 243. So far, through 3 days, I will say my favorite meals have been the Oatmeal &amp; Yogurt as part of breakfast of Day 2 as well as the Day 2 Dinner of Black Beans &amp; Rice.
