become a beachbody coach today

Don't Wait To Become A Beachbody Coach!

Have you been thinking  about becoming becoming a Beachbody Coach but want to wait for the perfect time to join? Maybe your life is real busy right now or you are waiting to save up some extra money to pay for the Challenge Pack you want to buy. Whatever the case may be, my advice is to stop waiting and get signed up as soon as possible. I recommend getting signed up today for a few several reasons.

Signing up today will force you to take action now. We all live busy lives and have things going on, the timing is never perfect for anything. Signing up today as a Beachbody Coach, and committing to improving your fitness, and learning the business, will force you to take the steps necessary to achieve your goals. Saying we’re “too busy” is usually just an excuse. If you are ever going to reach your fitness and financial goals, and achieve the financial freedom and time freedom you want in life, you are going to have to find the time to fit the necessary steps into your daily routine to achieve those goals. Success takes hard work and sacrifice. Trade one hour of television watching a night with working on building your Beachbody business. One hour a night may not seem like much, but you would be surprised at what goals you can accomplish over time by dedicating just one hour a night towards it.

If you are waiting to get started as Beachbody Coach because it is not in the budget, I’m calling bullshit. The price to get started is so low, anyone can find a way to fit it in their budget. For less than $140, you can sign up to be a Coach and get a month’s supply of Shakeology. Then after the first month, your total cost will be about $105 a month. If you break down that $105 charge into a daily cost, that comes out to be about $3.39 a day.

If you are replacing one meal a day with Shakeology, you will end up saving a little bit of money, most meals cost at least $5 or more. You also need look closely at some other daily expenses you are making and cut back on unnecessary purchases. For example, when I used to work in the construction industry, every morning I would buy a large coffee and bagel at Tim Horton’s, which cost me somewhere around $4. I decided I was going to replace those 2 items with Shakeology, it is much healthier for me and even saved me a little bit of money. Replace those daily 5 Hour Energy drinks, and Mountain Dews with Shakeology, and the price cancels itself out, and you’re getting healthy.

The above examples are not even including any income you have coming in. If you are actively working the business and making retails sales, it will only take about 3-4 Shakeology sales a month to be in profit. Making 1 sale a week is not very hard to do. This business opportunity is great because the cost is so low to get started that anyone can do it. If you really don’t have the money, take a chance and put it on a credit card, it may end up being the smartest purchase you will ever make on that card.

Another good reason to not wait to sign up to become a Beachbody Coach, and probably the most important, is because you could be missing out on potential “spill” that could be very beneficial to you and your business. If you are unfamiliar with the term “spill”, I will do my best to explain it here in a simple way. Because my Beachbody organization has 2 legs, a right and a left leg, and because I build both legs wide and deep, generally speaking, half of everyone I sponsor will also fall under you. And because I am a big recruiter, I am constantly bringing new Coaches into the business, and these Coaches could be falling under you, helping to grow your organization, and create more team volume for you. Another great aspect to the Beachbody business is that you are not building your organization completely by yourself, you get help from the people below you, and possibly the people above.

If you are thinking about becoming a Beachbody Coach, the smart move is to get signed up now and get positioned. This way, you won’t miss out on any potential spill. Also, it is important to realize that there is a learning curve involved with this business. It will take some to time to go through the training and learn how the business works and learn what sharing and marketing methods work best for you.

Beachbody Wins DSA Award

Beachbody Wins "Rising Star" Award!

I’ve been saying it for awhile now, Beachbody is a sleeping giant when it comes to the home based business industry. They are doing everything right and are set to explode in growth. In the 2 years I’ve been a Beachbody Coach I’ve seen the business opportunity develop and grow. The Beachbody executives are always coming out with new marketing tools, products, training, and anything they can think of to help the distributors(Coaches) succeed in growing their business.

When I first joined as a Beachbody Coach, Shakeology had not even been released yet. In only 2 years Shakeology has become the #3 revenue generator behind P90x, and Insanity. With no infomercials or advertising for Shakeology, being the #3 product says a lot. Being a consumable product, Shakeology will  for sure be the #1 revenue generator for Beachbody sometime in the future.

People are starting to take notice at what Beachbody is doing. Recently, yesterday I received a tweet from Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler, that read:

Just found out that Team Beachbody won the DSA’s “Rising Star Award”. I guess we’re on the radar now

That is great news and some serious recognition! If you don’t know what the DSA is, this is from their website (www.DSA.org) and explains their purpose, :

The Direct Selling Association (DSA) is the national trade association of the leading firms that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to consumers. Approximately 200 companies are members of the association, including many well-known brand names.

The Association’s mission is “To protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people they represent. To ensure that the marketing by member companies of products and/or the direct sales opportunity is conducted with the highest level of business ethics and service to consumers.”

The cornerstone of the Association’s commitment to ethical business practices and consumer service is its Code of Ethics. Every member company pledges to abide by the Code’s standards and procedures as a condition of admission and continuing membership in the Association.

As a Beachbody Coach, it is great to know that Beachbody is a member of the DSA, and now to know that they have won the Rising Star Award. I have not officially seen anything else that confirms this award, but since Carl Daikleler tweeted it, I’m sure he knows what he is talking about.  I’m guessing that the award has not been officially given out yet, but the DSA probably notified Carl that Beachbody had won. Either way, this is great news and I’m happy to be part of such a great company!

The members of the Direct Selling Association pride themselves in their commitment to the highest standards in business ethics,” said DSA’s President Neil Offen. “By applying for membership in the association and going through a rigorous approval process, these companies are saying they take their ethical obligations to their field salesforce and to the ultimate customer seriously and are willing to make a public pledge to that effect.

DSA’s Rising Star Award Explained

Similar to the path of a new recruit, young companies must be nurtured and mentored in order to be successful. It is important to begin the journey to greatness with a solid foundation and strong principles that will serve as the building blocks of success. While these young companies may not have unique programs in place that rise to the level of those recognized by other awards, many smaller companies have great stories to tell and they should be told. With this in mind, the Rising Star Award is designed to recognize up-and-coming direct selling companies that have dedicated themselves to achieving a high standard of excellence in business operations.

Who is eligible to enter:
Direct selling member companies

Criteria:

  • Companies must have been an active DSA member for at least one year.
  • Companies must have begun direct selling operations less than five years ago.
  • Companies must illustrate a commitment to the tenets of the DSA Code of Ethics.
  • Companies must illustrate a consistent and continued pattern of growth.
  • Companies must demonstrate a well-rounded business strategy including projections for growth in sales, salesforce and tangential activities such as charitable giving.

Past winners of the DSA Rising Star Award were Scentsy in 2009, and Rodan+Fields in 2010.

Beachbody Coach Scam

Beachbody Coach Scam

Beachbody Has An A+ BBB Rating

I’m often asked, “is this Beachbody Coach thing a scam?” I think people assume that being a Beachbody Coach means quick, easy money, which would mean “Beachbody Coach Scam“.  But being a Beachbody Coach is definitely NOT quick easy money, or a scam.

Many times in a network marketing business model like this that involves sponsoring or recruiting, those involved will often make it sound easier than it actually is to try and persuade their prospect to join the business. This has a negative effect on the person who is new to the business. They sign up under the impression that they are going to get rich with little or no effort at all. After a few months go by and no checks have come in, they realize that there is actually some real work involved in order to be successful, they end up quitting. After quitting, this is the guy or girl who says, “I tried that Beachbody Coach scam thing, it’s a load of crap”.

If anyone is telling that being a Beachbody Coach is easy money and that you will be making thousands in your first couple of months, don’t believe it, it is not true. These people are not only going to look bad to those they are sponsoring, but they are also giving the entire industry a bad name. This is where the whole “Beachbody Coach Scam” phrase comes from. People who have signed up with get rich quick hopes, only to be discouraged when they find out real work is involved. Instead of blaming themselves, they blame the company.

Being a Beachbody Coach is the same concept as having your own business and it should be treated like a real business. Just because there is very little to invest to get started does not mean that the business should be treated as a hobby or something to do just for fun. When treated as a real business, being a Beachbody can be very lucrative over time.

As in any industry, there is a learning curve in networking marketing. It can take up to a year to get competent and gain the knowledge necessary to be successful as a Beachbody Coach. If you’re working the business consistently, it should take about 3 years before you will be able to replace your regular “day job” income. And after five years you should be making a sizeable income of around $10,000 a month or more. This is a general timeline of any networking marketing business of someone who is actively working and growing their business. Of course it is possible to achieve greater results in a shorter amount of time and the opposite is always possible also, it could take longer. The great thing about being a Beachbody Coach is that you are paid directly according to what you produce, sho how much you make and how fast is entirely based on your own efforts.

So to get back to the Beachbody Coach scam topic, the question is not if the business opportunity is a scam or not, it is if the business model, network marketing, is a legitimate business model or not. Of course I’m biased because I am a Beachbody Coach, and am also a huge fan of network marketing. From everything I’ve read and studied, network marketing is definitely not a scam, however it is an industry that takes some effort to succeed in. There are also many other companies out there who pitch the “ground floor opportunity” hype, and take everyone’s money, only to fail in the first 6 month. People often get burned by the “hot and new” opportunities and they end up speaking badly towards the entire industry. To avoid getting scammed by these opportunities, it is very important to do your research and make sure you are signing on with a legitimate company.

So Is Being A Beachbody Coach A Scam?

As for this Beachbody Coach Scam thing, I can honestly say that it is the farthest thing from a scam that I have seen. It is a legitimate business, with real products that people love. Beachbody is also one of the few home based business opportunities to have an A+ Better Business Bureau Rating.

Beachbody Coach Advantage

Beachbody Coach Advantage

Beachbody has continuously proven to have a one of a kind business model. From the beginning of Beachbody’s home business launch, they have consistently added to, and improved on, every aspect of their business opportunity. From the creation of Shakeology, to all of the marketing tools constantly being added, Beachbody is definitely moving in the right direction and doing their part in helping the distributors (Coaches) grow their business.

There is one thing in particular that I want to talk about that sets Beachbody apart from any other business opportunity. One of the reasons it is so easy to succeed as a Beachbody Coach is because everyone has heard of their products. It is called brand awareness. Beachbody is constantly adding to their brand awareness through all of the infomercials they run and their frequent appearances in the media and on talk shoes.

Just off the top of my head I can name a handful of very popular shows a Beachbody trainer or workout was mentioned on a TV show.

  • The Ellen Degeneres Show
  • Dr. Oz
  • Oprah
  • The Today Show
  • Good Morning America
  • Tyra Banks
  • The View
  • And many more!

These appearances are great FREE publicity for Beachbody and Beachbody Coaches. It creates a greater demand and makes selling Beachbody products much easier. People are actually out looking for the products, they want them, and since they are not sold in stores, they will come to a Beachbody Coach to purchase them. There is no need to try and convince people to try out your product, they’ve already seen the infomercial, have seen the results on others, and now want to the same results for themselves. As a Beachbody Coaches, we’re not a salesperson, were consultants and are just recommending products that we use ourselves and have enjoyed and had great results with.

When I think of “other” home based business products, the first things to pop in my head are, makeup, candles, vitamins, and jewelery. While some of the companies may have decent products, the problem is that they are just way too common and can be found anywhere. For example, if someone wants to buy a candle, they can find one at Target, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, and just about everywhere. You can even find candles at dollar stores. Trying to sell candles is going to be pretty tough. Friends and family may purchase them from you just to be nice, but eventually that will run out and finding actual customers that are searching for you your specific product is going to be extremely hard, if not impossible.

The same goes with makeup, jewelry, and vitamins. They are just way too common and not really in a niche of their own. These products can be easily found in stores anywhere. Beachbody Coaches have an advantage over other home based businesses because their products are unique in the health and fitness niche. If someone wants P90x, they don’t have the option to go to Walmart and buy something similar or close to the same thing. If someone wants P90x, they have to buy it from Beachbody or a Beachbody Coach, and that is what makes it easier to find customers to sell to.

Waiting To Become A Beachbody Coach

wait to be beachbody coach

Don't Wait To Become A Beachbody Coach

I am often asked by people who have never done a Beachbody workout, or are about to start one, if they should wait until they are finished with their workout program before becoming a Beachbody Coach. My answer is a big fat, NO! There is no reason to wait.

Being a Beachbody Coach is something that takes some time to get going.  It is a business that takes time to build, months, even years. Most Beachbody Coaches receive little to no income if the first few months. In the beginning, you’re learning the business, your team will be small, and it will take a few months before you really get an understanding on how the business works and to start seeing some income coming in.

There is nothing wrong with signing up as a Beachbody Coach before you’ve started your workout. I always recommend to people to become a Coach first, then pick out a workout program to do, you’ll save 25% and the money you save will pay for your initial start up fee.

So now you are a Coach, and you’re ready to try out the product first hand. You’ll be motivated to stick with your workout and get good results, not only for yourself, but for your business too.

As a new Beachbody Coach, starting out a new workout program, you will be amazed at the results you will get. Depending on the length of the workout you choose, typically 60-90 days, you will definitely get great results and people will be telling you how great you look and ask what you’ve been doing to get in such great shape. Now is the time to tell them about P90x, Insanity, Turbo Fire, Slim in 6, or whatever workout it is you have been doing. Send them to your website to make a purchase, and you’ve made a commission. The concept works great because appearance it brought up naturally in conversation everyday. When you notice that someone has lost weight since you have last seen them, you always say, “hey, you’re looking great!”.

As a new Beachbody Coach about to start a workout program, it is a great idea to take some before and after pictures. You’ll be amazed at the changes you can make in as little as 90 days and these pictures will be great to post on a blog or even facebook. Using your before and after pictures as a marketing tool can be a very effective way of growing your business.  As a Coach, you’re a walking billboard and testimonial for the products you sell. Don’t take that the wrong way, you don’t have to be all ripped up and in perfect shape to be successful in this business, but making improvements in your own health and fitness will help. People will not want to buy fitness products from a couch potato.

So if you are thinking about becoming a Beachbody Coach, but are unsure because you have not done one of their workouts yet, don’t worry. You can become a Coach, then choose your workout. Becoming a Beachbody Coach first should actually serve as motivation to push yourself to achieve the best results possible.

P90x Keyword Results For Affiliates

Number Of Monthly Searches For P90x And More (Click To Enlarge)

Many people are making a butt load of money on the internet with affiliate marketing. If you don’t know what affiliate marketing is or how it works, I’ll explain. The concept is very simple, affiliate marketing is being paid a referral fee or commission for referring a product or service. Lets take Amazon.com for example. Amazon.com has an affiliate program that anyone can join. Within minutes anyone can be selling products from Amazon on their own website, blog, or even through emails. Every Amazon affiliate has special links that are tied to them so that anytime a purchase is made through their link it can be tracked and the affiliate will get credit and commission for the sale.

Many people try to make a living from affiliate marketing and fail. Although it sounds easy in theory, being a successful affiliate marketer is very hard. There are many people competing in the same markets and trying to get traffic for the same keywords.

For someone trying to make money online, network marketing may be the way to go. In a lot of ways, affiliate marketing and network marketing work in the same way. Those who can effectively drive traffic, and then use the right marketing techniques to either capture a lead, or make a sale, will be the ones who succeed. The main thing an affiliate marketer should do when making the transition over to network marketing is choosing the right business. And the Beachbody Coach business opportunity is the perfect business for affiliate marketers.

Why Is The Beachbody Coach Business Opportunity Perfect For Affiliate Marketer?

Beachbody spends millions of dollars producing and airing infomercials. This creates product awareness and demand. Beachbody’s products are not sold in stores and can only be sold by calling the number from the infomercial, or online. People are searching google like crazy looking for information on Beachbody’s workout programs. The picture at the right is the monthly number of searches for P90x and other P90x related phrases. You can see that P90x was “googled” 2.7 million times last month! And you can also see the numbers for the related phrases. If you’re an experienced affiliate  marketer, you will see the potential here. And P90x is just one of Beachbody’s products. Insanity, Turbo Fire, 10 Minute Trainer, Brazil Butt Lift, Hip Hops Abs, and many more are all very popular infomercials and have a huge amount of people looking for information on them.

Why be just an affiliate marketer making one time sales? With networking marketing you acquire customers that are electronically tied to you and come back for repeat purchases. Why not use you internet marketing knowledge to build a legitimate business that will provide you with residual income for years to come?

Beachbody Now Speaks Spanish

Beachbody Now Speaks Spanish

Recently Beachbody has made the  Beachbody Coach business opportunity available to Spanish speaking U.S. residents. This is great news for current Beachbody Coaches because  it is a huge market for them to tap into and grow their business. You might be surprised to know that the current U.S. Hispanic population is just under 50 million and growing daily.

Beachbody has provided Coaches with all of the marketing tools needed to help them reach out to this market, except a Rosetta Stone course…lol. But seriously, even if you don’t speak Spanish, there are plenty of ways to market to the Hispanic community and with the all of the tools Beachbody has provided, it won’t be too hard.

Here are a few of the Spanish sites Beachbody has set up for me:

I can now refer any Spanish speaking customers or prospects to the above websites, and since I already have a team member who speaks Spanish, I can refer all emails, phone calls, and questions to him.

This is the first step taken by Beachbody to launch the business opportunity globally. From what I hear, By the end of 2011 Beachbody will launch into other countries, probably just a few at a time. Beachbody is doing the right thing by taking it slow and making sure everything is in place before they move forward. This is all great news and I’m looking forward to all the growth that will follow.

Below is a great article from a Team Beachbody Newsletter. It talks about how Beachbody Calls can get into the Spanish speaking market, even if they don’t speak Spanish.

Embracing the Hispanic Community

By Howard Shapiro

Jimmy’s introduction to the Hispanic community came at a Team Beachbody event. “I met someone who was bilingual at a Tony Horton event,” he recalls. “They had crazy–good results with the business and it helped me to start thinking globally.”

Jimmy is one of thousands of Coaches who will benefit from all the great tools available in the Hispanic Initiative. “I’m thrilled that we are expanding into the Hispanic community,” he says. “It’s an opportunity to share Beachbody with more people than ever before!”

He adds, “Whether it’s fitness, nutrition, or financial freedom, people of all walks of life need the solutions we provide. At the end of the day, the language we’re all speaking is health, happiness, and freedom!”

Who do you know?

When it comes to this historic launch, the first thing Jimmy suggests to do is figure out who you know who speaks Spanish. “Anyone who says they don’t know at least one person in the Hispanic community needs a different kind of memory jogger,” he says. “There are a great number of people who speak Spanish in the United States.” Jimmy adds, “I ask people who they know in industries that traditionally have a lot of bilingual employees. This approach always seems to generate good results.”

And Jimmy knows that being an English-speaking Coach doesn’t stand in the way of success. “At first, I was scared of offending people because I didn’t speak Spanish,” he explains. “But once I got over my fear, good things started happening. I know that Coaches of any nationality will have great success with this exciting launch.”

Underneath it all is Jimmy’s burning desire to help others. “When you realize that the Team Beachbody business opportunity can change thousands of lives, the language barrier flies out the window,” he says. “I want to help people achieve a higher level of health and fitness.” Jimmy adds, “Good things happen when you reach out from your heart!”

A perfect match

Jimmy will tell you that Beachbody fitness programs are a perfect match with the Hispanic community. “Direct sales programs, in general, are very prevalent in the Spanish speaking community,” he says. “And Beachbody has amazing products that the Hispanic community has never been exposed to.”

Jimmy realizes that momentum and enthusiasm can grow quickly in the Hispanic community, too. “I have a friend who works at a Spanish language network with a lot of bilingual employees,” he explains. “I’ve seen their enthusiasm, excitement, and passion for life.”

Jimmy goes on, “Basically, the Hispanic community has a sense of loyalty when they find something that really works. There’s not as much skepticism as there is in the English-speaking community.”

Community success

“People within the Hispanic community love success stories,” Jimmy says. “When they see a friend that has lost 10 pounds, they get super excited and believe they can do it, too.” He adds, “They’re also eager to share that success with their family, friends, and coworkers.”

And let’s not forget about Jimmy’s personal success story. “I’ve lost 100 pounds with Beachbody programs like P90X:,” he says. “I’ve even been in three INSANITY DVDs!”

An actor by trade, the Team Beachbody business opportunity has now become his full-time gig. “I no longer have ‘survival’ jobs like waiting tables or bartending,” he says. “I’m able to make my own hours and have much greater flexibility because of my full-time income.” And the best part for Jimmy? “As a new father, I don’t have to worry about finding day care anymore,” he says with relief. “My business allows me to be a stay-at-home dad!”

Coach’s Playbook: How to make the most of your opportunity with the Hispanic Initiative

  • Think of places you do business that might have Spanish-speaking employees, like restaurants, hotels, or the grocery store.
  • Ask your current customers, Team, family, and friends for help in getting the word out to the Hispanic community.
  • Don’t let your lack of language skills intimidate you. Team up with people who can help bridge the language barrier.
  • Reach out from the heart. When you seek to help others, you will achieve great success.

Carl Daikeler CNNBeachbody and it’s Coach network is growing by leaps and bounds. The Beachbody Coach home business opportunity is only 4 years old and is seeing incredible growth. The products Beachbody Coaches are able to offer customers are second to none  and  in high demand. The infomercials Beachbody runs all day long create a demand for the product, and customer leads for those involved in Beachbody’s business opportunity. Beachbody offers a home based business unlike anything ever offer and are seeing some amazing results because of it. P90x has earned $420 in sales for Beachbody since 2005.

Recently the CEO of Beachbody, Carl Daikeler posted this on his facebook wall:

“If your prospect doesn’t think the timing is right, they’re about to feel left in the dust. Like a rocket – we’re taking this to a new level”

Daikeler was also featured in a recent article at CNN.com where he discusses trends in fitness and where Beachbody fits in, plans for the future, and how the main goal is to end the trend of obesity in America. Below is the full article:

The Little Black Dress Of Fitness

By. Jacque Wilson

It’s 7:20 a.m. and Carl Daikeler hasn’t worked out yet. Not a big deal for the 49% of Americans who don’t exercise regularly, but it’s going to bother him all day.

The problem is the CEO of Beachbody, the company behind P90X and Insanity, doesn’t like to work out. So much so that he sometimes has to “trick” himself into the gym. Like the time he decided he couldn’t brush his teeth before he worked out for at least 10 minutes. That little ploy inspired Beachbody’s 10-Minute Trainer program.

The fitness industry is constantly coming up with similar tricks to get more of us off the couch, Daikeler said.

The result is a rotation of incoming and outgoing trends — from Jane Fonda’s VHS tapes in the early ’80s to Beachbody’s DVD programs that are popular today.

Daikeler compares fitness to fashion. “Somebody starts wearing a certain shoe in Milan or Japan and suddenly everybody wants to wear it,” he said. “It doesn’t just solve the problem — like shoes cover your feet. It makes you feel like it’s (a part of) your identity.”

Starla Kay teaches youth video classes at the Indiana Black Expo in Indianapolis. She has a 19-month-old son and not a lot of time for a workout program that doesn’t work.

She tried kickboxing, aerobics and just going to the gym, but nothing really stuck until she got one of this year’s hot trends, P90X.

“This is the first actual program I’ve done,” she said. “I feel stronger. I feel like I have more energy. I’ve lost 9 pounds so far.”

The American College of Sports Medicine publishes a yearly survey of the top worldwide fitness trends. The top 10 list for 2011 includes boot camps and programs aimed at older adults.

Trends depend on many factors, said the survey’s lead author, Walt Thompson. Take Pilates, which dropped off the survey’s list from No. 9 last year. Thompson believes the economy made Pilates equipment and specialized instructors too expensive for clubs to maintain. He’s not sure if Pilates will make a return to the top 20, but he doesn’t expect a few of this year’s trends to stick around long.

“The problem with the high-intensity kind of programs is that they deliver a punch like severe weight loss programs do, but they’re difficult to comply with in the long haul,” he said.

Remember the slide board? Tae Bo? Step aerobics? All trends Houston, Texas, YMCA senior program director Karen Behrend has seen come and go in her 28 years of teaching group fitness.

“The reason why programs like that don’t stick is because they’re too hard to do,” she said. “The things that really stick are programs that cross over multiple (ability) levels.”

Kay said when she first attempted the P90X DVD program it was “too much” so she dropped it after two weeks. But when she started attending a class with an instructor who taught her how to modify the moves, she found herself returning six days a week at 7 a.m.

Behrend cites classes like Zumba, body pump and spinning as success stories. They’re consistent, easy to follow and include that always important element of fun.

“They make people feel successful,” IDEA Fitness Journal Editor-in-chief Sandy Todd Webster said. “That’s a huge key in good programming is to make people feel like ‘Wow, I get it.’ ”

IDEA is the world’s largest association for fitness and wellness professionals. It also does a yearly survey of fitness trends. This year, aerobics, water fitness and martial arts-based classes had the largest decline in popularity. Dance and boot camp classes showed the largest growth.

“Think Jazzercise classes — they’re fun. They combine good music, easy choreography (and) social aspects,” Webster said.

Jazzercise is one of those trends that stuck. Judi Sheppard Missett founded the company in 1969 and the dance-based classes are still popular across the world. In fact, Entrepreneur Magazine recently named Jazzercise 2011′s most successful fitness franchise.

“It’s not like you can take a six-week course and be fit the rest of your life,” Missett said. “It’s really good that people are coming up with different ways to move. I’m happy for anybody doing anything, anything that gets them off the couch and on their feet.”

She continues to choreograph routines to approximately 30 new songs every 10 weeks to keep her high member retention rate.

It is the beauty and curse of the industry, Behrend said. Old trends evolve into new ones, forcing gyms to stay cutting edge, but keeping customers excited about working out.

“The trick only lasts so long,” Daikeler said, going back to his fashion analogy. “The best designers aren’t looking for trends; the best designers set the trends. Will this capture a market audience or is this like Lady Gaga’s meat dress?”

Daikeler said he just hopes whatever the industry comes up with next is the end of the biggest trend in America right now: obesity.

Network marketing, or MLM, often gets a bad rap. There are many reasons for this that I won’t go into now, but one of the hurdles a Beachbody Coach must get over are the negative preconceived notions people have about network marketing. Ultimately, if someone does their research with an open mind, they will see that network marketing is a legitimate business model that has been constantly growing over the past 60 years. And now with the internet involved, building a network marketing business has never been easier. Network marketing is the business of the 21st Century. But don’t take my word for it, listen to this…Click Here

Beachbody was around for 8 years and already a successful company when they decided to launch their business opportunity using the network marketing business model. This could of posed as a problem to some of the people already involved with Beachbody, but as it turned out, the popular trainers, Tony Horton of P90x, Shaun T of Insanity, and Chalene Johnson of the Turbo Series all have nothing but good things to say about the Beachbody Coach business opportunity. Below is a video of Chalene Johnson and Shaun T talking about the business and what it means to them.

Carl Daikeler

Beachbody CEO, Carl Daikeler

Here is a great article I came across from Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler. In this article, Carl talks about how Beachbody has a legitimate business opportunity and is unlike all other network marketing companies. Carl always stresses how it is not about the money, but more about helping other get healthy and fit. As a Beachbody Coach, if you concentrate on really helping others get in shape, the money will follow. This is an inspiring and motivating article and makes me proud to be a part of it all.

Words from Carl Daikeler:

“When we began paying commissions on sales of Beachbody products to our customers, with an incentive for them to bring in additional reps to spread the word, the only customer complaints pertained to the seedy reputation of other multi-level marketers as a “pyramid scheme”. That reputation is largely due to the millions of families who are still stuck with inventory of soap, pills, and water filters from business ventures of the past, and the pressure to effectively become the sales manager to your own friends and family members.

After just six months of operation, I can proudly say, we are none of any of that. We are promoters of health and fitness. And for the people who get in and get active with Million Dollar Body, the opportunity is anything but “traditional” network marketing, but with every bit of potential for financial reward.

Actually, I think I’ve probably offended more network marketers than we’ve signed up because of my convictions. (I sometimes speak my mind a little too freely. Ask me about the “Pyruvate Incident” sometime.) The reason we may not be immediately attractive to network marketing heavyweights is our commitment to making this home based business opportunity about getting people healthy and active – FOR REAL! That in itself is a multi-billion dollar opportunity if we stay focused on the real goal. The fact that I won’t pitch the money potential first and the health benefits second makes me look foolish to those who have made their big bucks hawking business opportunities. The fact that we don’t require people to invest thousands of dollars in inventory looks counter-intuitive to the folks who are used just to selling “the next hot breakthrough”. But imagine how many millions of people who need a friend to lend them a hand in getting more active would appreciate something that could also earn them an extra income! THAT’S OPPORTUNITY with REAL substance!

And that’s why this concept and the Beachbody faithful who are helping it grow are so special.

Exercise will NEVER go out of style. No drug can replace exercise. No electrical stimulation device can make it easier. If you want your body to work and feel good, you need to use it, or you will feel the consequences sooner than you expect. Eating right is simple. We show you how to achieve it. That has value to everyone around you. We are committed to helping people understand how to do it. That is the word we are spreading. Beachbody customer complaints generally stem from those who didn’t have the support or accountability to stay with the program they purchased. Million Dollar Body changes all that by connecting people together in a “network” of support. That’s the revolution that we’re committed to creating here!

The miraculous stories of people who rediscover exercise and how their lives change because of it is the heart of what we do. The financial opportunity and how it has already helped people pay off their mortgages, pay for their kids school, or buy the car they always wanted are also incredible and meaningful. The two go hand in hand with what is so substantial about this opportunity.

The other day in a meeting I made a point about how I would pitch this if I could be a coach. I wouldn’t whip out photos of the new car my commissions bought me, or the flat screen TV being installed at the house thanks to my rank advancements, I would show my before and after photos, and tell my friend that they can do it too if they make a simple “20 in 30″ promise…

I hear you complaining about your energy, about how your clothes fit, and how you don’t like the way your body looks… If you want to change all that, I promise you, you can. And it can generate an income for you too. If you want to get results, I will help you; All you need to do is promise me two things:

(1) Get started on something: Sign up, pick a program, and do at least 20 workouts in 30 days. And

(2) Pass it on: Ask two people whose health you care about to do the same thing. That’s it. If you don’t see results in those 30 days, you can quit and get the money back for the product. But I know you will see results, and your life will change. And people will ask you if you’re on a diet. And you’ll tell them about this. And you will be in business.

That’s how easy things happen when you make that simple decision: Commit to at least 20 workouts in 30 days. All you need to do right now is stop thinking about it, and make those two promises to me: Get started, and pass it on.”

Will some of our coaches make a lot of money by signing up, getting two more to sign up, and qualifying to help support our customers to get success? Absolutely. And some won’t make a thing or care about it. They’ll do it so they can feel the same thing I get to feel every day I get a success story email.

We’re entering a period of very dramatic growth. The lead pool is going to accelerate in the next few months. The coaches who get in now and share our vision of helping people get healthy are the ones who deserve the financial rewards. The kind of coaches I want to help us build this will be a positive force of health and peer support, and they will reap the rewards. I don’t care if you wear a tie (I don’t), I don’t care if you spend your money on toys or education, I don’t care if you walk, jog, or crush P90X. All I care about is that you get healthy, and that you contact your coaches and customers from time to time to help them stay accountable to their plan as well.

You are the elite, and together we’re changing the state of health in this country!
