I’m going to give you the general concepts on what Beachbody Coaches do, what to expect, and some of the things you will need to do if you want to be successful.

You don’t need to be a personal trainer, a fitness professional, an expert on health in nutrition, and you don’t even need to be in great shape to be a Beachbody Coach.

Here are the 6 basic things you’ll do as a Beachbody Coach:

1. Share the opportunity with others
2. Share the products with others
3. Enroll new Coaches into the business
4. Sell products
5. Supports your Coaches
6. Support your customers

How To Be A Successful Beachbody Coach – It’s Not Easy

Before I explain how to be a successful Beachbody Coach we first have to figure out our own individual definition of success. Whether if it is to make a lot of money, have financial and time freedom, to be able to call your own shots and do what you want when you want, or to just live a stress free and happy life. We all have our own definitions of success, which usually start at making money, after all, it is much easier to be able to call your own shots if you have money.

Dictionary.com give this definition of success; the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like.

Generally speaking, most people’s success will be determined by the amount of money they make. It feels great to be able to help people get healthy and fit, but if they aren’t making any money, they won’t consider themselves successful. Don’t be confused by the word “Coach”, it is really just another word for distributor. A a Beachbody Coach, you won’t really be “coaching” people, the videos do all of the coaching. So with that being said, this is what I see happening with many new Beachbody Coaches. A customer will have awesome results with P90x (or any other Beachbody workout program), and fall in love with it, which is great because Beachbody does have awesome products. Then this customer will find out how they can earn money by helping others get healthy and fit with the Beachbody Coaching program. So they decide to become a Beachbody Coach.

Here is where the problem lies, having a love of the product and passion for health and fitness is great, but it is not enough to be successful in this business. This is a “business”, and it is “your business”. As a Beachbody Coach you are the CEO of your own company. This means there are business related things you are going to have to learn if you want to be successful. Of course anyone can sign up and earn a few extra bucks selling a few products to people that they know. But if you want to earn a full time income there are things you will need to learn.

The business model Beachbody uses is called network marketing, multi-level marking, or relationship marketing, they are all the same thing. As a Beachbody Coach, it is important to learn what network marketing is, how it works, and have true belief in the model. A great book to pick up is, Your First Year in Network Marketing, by Mark Yarnell. There will be people telling you that it is a “pyramid scam”, and if you aren’t educated on how the model works, you may believe them. This step is very important, especially for new Coaches.

When someone asks me, “is Beachbody a pyramid scam?”.

I reply with, “what defines a pyramid scam?”

Then, depending on their definition of a pyramid scam (they usually don’t even know what a real pyramid scam, ponzi scheme is), I suggest to them to do the same thing I did, which was go down to the Federal Trade Commission and ask them what a pyramid scam is and if Beachbody is a legitimate company. Anyone that does their research will find that Beachbody has an A+ Better Business Bureau rating, and was a successful company for 8 years before they even launched their home based business opportunity. Why would a successful company that could of easily chose to sell their products in retails stores, decide on the network marketing business model if it wasn’t legit? That just wouldn’t make sense.

Ok, I kind of strayed off topic there for a moment, I just wanted to stress the importance of learning how the business model works and believing in it. Normally I don’t even like debating with someone on the network marketing business model, trying to change someone’s mind on the issue takes way too much energy and usually ends up being futile.

How To Be A Successful Beachbody Coach – Learn Marketing

Once you understand how network marketing works, you will want to learn some basic marketing skills. Again, this is a business and you will need to acquire the proper skill set if you want to be successful. Things like general conversation skills, how to talk to people on the phone, how to handle objections, copywriting, direct response marketing, social media marketing, online marking, and etc. You are probably saying to yourself, “damn, I have to learn all of that if I want to be successful?”. YES!! You need to learn these things if you want to be successful. You may not have to learn all of these things, but you will at least have to pick one or two skills and work to get really good at them.

To be successful as a Beachbody Coach you are going to have to stay focused and be persistent. There will be highs and lows in this business, and it is very easy to get distracted by shiny objects. Once you are involved in a network marketing company, you are going to be approached by people involved with other companies trying to recruit you. They will have latest and greatest “ground-floor” opportunity, and it will sound great, but don’t fall for it. Stay focused and take the necessarily daily actions you need to take to build your Beachbody business.

Another thing you will have to learn is to not take rejection personally. People are going to tell you no. People are going to tell you that you are wasting your time with this opportunity and say all kinds of negative things. Don’t get emotional when someone tells you no. In fact, a good strategy is to try and get a certain number of “no’s” a day. With this strategy, it is guaranteed that you will eventually get some “yesses”. There has even been an entire book written on this strategy, Go for No! Yes is the Destination, No is How You Get There.

Treat your Beachbody business like a real business. If you sign up to be a Beachbody Coach with the mindset of, “I think I’ll give this Beachbody thing a try”, you are setting yourself up for failure. You need to draw a line in the sand, and be determined, no matter what, to make your business succeed. Because the cost to join is so low, it is very easy to quit and give up when you get discouraged, and you will get discouraged at some point, it’s inevitable. You need to have the right mindset if you want to succeed.

Continually working on your personal development, having the right mindset, gaining the necessary skills, and being persistent is how to be a successful Beachbody Coach. This may all sound like a lot of work, because it is. There is a lot of hard work and effort involved if you want to succeed…but the end result is definitely worth it.

I have a simple question for you, Do You Really Want To Be Successful?

It’s a simple question and and the obvious answer is YES. But do you really want to to be successful? Will you do what it takes to succeed? Are you willing to learn new things? Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone and take massive action?

Everyone SAYS that they want to be successful, but very few take the required action steps.

One thing I think a lot of Coaches are not realizing is that being a Beachbody Coach is also being a business owner. As a Beachbody Coach you are the CEO of you own business. And being a business owner means that there are certain skills that you are going to have to learn. Skills like marketing, direct response marketing, copy-writing, leadership and time management skills, and etc.

Having a passion for health and  fitness is a great start, but that alone is not enough to build a business.

It is important to make sure that daily actions you are taking are growing your business. If you are running a Fit Club, or a Challenge Group, that is great, but make sure your time and efforts are being monetized and your Clubs and groups are resulting in sales and new Coach signups. A Challenge group of 5 people should result in at least 1-2 new Coaches joining you in your business. Let them know how they can earn money by creating a Challenge group of their own.

Don’t be afraid to offer to promote the business opportunity and the potential to earn an unlimited amount of income. As a Beachbody Coach, you are looking for entrepreneurial minded people. And if you are a new Coach, understand that becoming a Coach really is “entry level entrepreneurship”. Most new Beachbody Coaches don’t know what they don’t know and it is important to understand this from the start.

As a subscriber to Success Magazine, I was happy to learn about Team Beachbody’s new Success On Demand feature. This new feature that is available to all Beachbody Coaches will give us access to a huge library of personal growth and developmental materials. Success Magazine puts out some great information that provides excellent tips, inspiration, and motivation, all of which helps us keep the proper mindest and helps us grow our businesses.

Personal growth and development is a big part to being successful as a Beachbody Coach, and really anything in life. The value of the Success On Demand can easily be valued at over 2-3 times the $15.95/mth fee it costs to be a Beachbody Coach. Even if a Coach struggles to get their business off the ground right away, if they take advantage of the materials available to them in their Coach online office, it will be nearly impossible to actually lose money. Don’t look at it as “spending money”, but rather, “investing in yourself”. Small daily changes over time create huge accomplishments.

Reaching Emerald status should be the first goal of every new Beachbody Coach. If you aren’t familiar with the different Beachbody Coach ranks and what it takes to qualify for Emerald status, I’ll give a very simple and quick explanation. To reach Emerald status, all that a Beachbody Coach needs to do is enroll 2 other active Coaches into the business. Without complicating things too much, the term “active” means that the Coaches that were enrolled in the business either purchased a Challenge Pack, or ordered Shakeology on monthly autoship. Either of those 2 things would fulfill the personal volume requirement for the new Coaches you enrolled into the business to be considered active and also maintain their active status each and every month. You don’t want to waste your time enrolling new Coaches into the business that aren’t buying products, that will make your attempts at building a large long term business futile.

Reaching Emerald Status Is Easy; Just Sponsor 2!

I truly believe that anyone can at least reach Emerald if they put in an honest effort. It might take them a month or two, or even a year, but it is something that anyone can do. If you don’t think you can sponsor at least two people into this business within at least 12 months, this business is probably not for you. Although I have been proven wrong in the past. There have been Beachbody Coaches on my team team that did absolutely nothing for 18 months, then all of the sudden they started producing. But I wouldn’t recommend waiting a year to get started, the best way to get your new business growing fast is to take action and get the ball rolling as soon as possible. We all know at least 2 people that would like to earn some extra money while getting in shape. Find those 2 people and get them signed up. Signing up a spouse is even allowed and encouraged and also a great way to maximize Beachbody’s compensation plan.

Emerald Status = Free Customers!

The reason reaching Emerald status is so important is because once a Beachbody Coach reaches this level they are able to take advantage of Beachbody’s customer lead generation program. Beachbody actually places customers into qualifying Beachbody Coaches’ businesses for them. This is very powerful and is something that no other home based business is able to do. Customer acquisition is the hardest part of building any business, and Beachbody solves that problem and literally builds our customer base for us.

I don’t want to give the wrong impression and make you think that all you need to do to be successful as a Beachbody Coach is get to Emerald, this is not the case. The free customers Beachbody gives out are a great incentive, but you will still want to have your own methods of generating leads, customers, and new Coach sign ups if you want to be successful.

To give you an example of how I am able to benefit from the free customers I’ve received over the past 2 and a half years, follow me through this scenario. So, like I said, I’ve been receiving free customers for approximately 2 and a half years. Beachbody follows up with these customers for me through emails with a newsletter and special announcements and things like that. But, I am also able to contact these customers via phone or email. Every time a new product is launched, and there are many in the pipeline, I can send out an email letting these customers know about the new product.

For a more specific example, the new Ultimate Reset is scheduled to be released in just a few days. I am able to email my entire customer list letting them know about this product and how great the reviews have been from the test group. Of course not every customer will purchase The Ultimate Reset, but if only 5% of my customers (2500 total customers) buy it, that would results in 125 sales and depending on what the price of The Ultimate Reset will be, I’ll earn thousands of dollars in commissions. The price of  The Ultimate Reset has not been released yet so I don’t know what the exact commission amount would be. The point is, every time there is a new product launch, it ends up being a great payday for me and every other Beachbody Coach that is at least Emerald and getting free customers.

Now I already know what some of you “negative thinkers” are thinking. You are thinking that you missed the boat, and that I’m lucky because I have already been in the business for over 2 and a half years. I’m here to tell you are that you absolutely DID NOT miss the boat. Beachbody is still in their infancy stage and has plans for new growth and new product launches in the works going as far into the future as 10 years. The business opportunity is still only available in the U.S., and while most people can’t easily conceptualize the size of the world and how many people are in on it, let me make things simple by saying that the population of the U.S. accounts for roughly 5% of the entire world population. To make things even simpler, lets say if the world population is a $1, then the U.S. population would be a nickel. My point is, when Beachbody launches their business opportunity into other countries, and starts to run infomercials in other countries, there is HUGE potential for growth. So right now is the PERFECT time to take massive action.

The Beachbody Coach network is seeing incredible growth. February 2012 was by far the biggest month of growth ever for new Coaches (distributors) joining the business. To be specific, 6515 new Beachbody Coaches signed up in February 2012, compared to 2,985 in February 2011, which is a 118% increase in just 12 months!

Am I Too Old To Be A Beachbody Coach?...Is that a trick question?...

I was talking with a woman recently who was very interested in Beachbody’s business opportunity and becoming a Beachbody Coach, she just had one concern. She wanted to know if she was too old to be a Beachbody Coach. To me this was a silly concern, this women was in her late 50′s and from the short conversation we had seemed to be more intelligent than most people I speak to from any age group.

Age is one of the most common excuses people use to not try something new. Change is awkward and difficult for everyone. This is why many older people will simply stay stuck in their old ways instead of learning and growing. Learning should be considered a lifelong process for everyone, and has even been proven to keep brain functions working properly and slow down the deteriorating process that comes with aging. The cliche, “use or lost it”, is a cliche because  it is true. Do not let age stop you from trying something new, or attempting to learn something new, if try and don’t succeed, at least you can say that you tried, which is much better than never trying at all.

The point I’m trying to make is that you should not let your age be a factor when making your decision to become a Beachbody Coach. I have people on my team between of the ages of 18-65. Anyone who is willing to put in a honest effort and treat their business seriously can be successful. There are certain things that you will need to learn, books you will have to read, and course you’ll have to take to increase your chances of success, and anyone at any age can do these things. The question, “am I too old to be a Beachbody Coach?” shouldn’t even be crossing your mind, in fact, you shouldn’t wonder if you are too old to do anything, within reason of course. You might be to old to start a career as a professional MMA fighter or professional snowboarder or something like that, but when it comes to something conceptual, you are never too old.

Ok, let me start off by saying that I am now feeling a little weird about talking about my Beachbody Coach income and posting my checks here on my website. I don’t want to come off like a douche bag or that I’m trying show how awesome I am or anything like that. I’m just sharing my story and showing what it possible to achieve with the Beachbody business opportunity.

Two and a half years ago, when I first started posting my checks and talking about the money I was making as a Beachbody Coach, it was only around $300 a month and I was happy to be making the extra money to cover the car payment. Over those two and a half years the Beachbody Coach income I’ve generated has consistently grown and in less than 12 months has doubled. In February of 2012, I earned just under $6500 as a Beachbody Coach.

It is important to know that in the early days of being involved in this business I made no money at all. I’m posting my checks and showing my Beachbody Coach income because I want to be as transparent as possible. A big part of being a Beachbody Coach is sponsoring other Coaches into the business, so I want to show people what can be achieved if they are willing to put in a serious effort and treat this as a real business. The biggest mistake I see people making is signing up as a “hobby” or as something to just “try out”. In order to be successful, it has to be treated as a real business that you’ve invested thousands of dollars in.

I want to be clear that by showing my Beachbody Coach income I’m not trying to brag or anything like that, there are many Coaches doing better than I am and making much more money than me, but I won’t lie, it does feel good to be able to say, “I told you so”, to some of the people who laughed at me and told me I was crazy when I got started in this business.

As you can see from my older posts, I started off with a $17 check and have recently gotten a check for over $1900, this is how the the business model works, it starts off slow, and slowly grows and doesn’t stop. It grows slowly at first, which is where most people will get discouraged. It is important to understand how the business model of network marketing works, and the power of exponential growth.

My Beachbody Coach income is not a result of all my work, I have to thank my awesome team and give credit to them for the success I’ve had so far. Being able to build a team is what enables a Beachbody Coach to earn an unlimited amount of money, it is called leverage and what is needed to create wealth and residual income. In a tradition business, a business owner would hire employees which is a form of leverage. As a Beachbody Coach, the leverage comes from the team that you build. For example, if I can work on my business 10 hours a week, and I sponsor 10 people into the business that can can also spend 10 hours a week on the business, collectively, that adds up to 110 hours a week spent on building my business. And because I have a vested interest in seeing my teammates succeed, I do everything I can to support and help them. This is the perfect business model because it uses synergy and true teamwork.

And after dropping 10, 20, or even 50 lbs, everyone is going to be asking, “how’d you do it?” And when you tell them P90x, Insanity, Turbo Fire, or whatever workout program you chose, you’ll be able to get compensated for your referral. Another great part of the business model Beachbody uses is that it allows me to earn money while I sleep, or am on vacation, or am doing whatever it is I enjoy doing. By building a team, I am building an asset that will continue to earn money for me whether or not I’m actually working. The majority of  people in the workforce are just trading time for money, which means when they stop working, the money stops coming in, and because there are only so many hours in a day, they are limited to the amount of money they can make, which is why it is impossible to attain wealth when you are getting paid by the hour or working for a salary. Beachbody Ranks

If you are a new Beachbody Coach, or have been doing some research on becoming a Beachbody Coach and are looking for an explanation on how the Beachbody Coach ranks work, you’ve come to the right place. At first glance the Beachbody Coach ranks can seem kind of complicated, but it really isn’t. In this post I’m going to break it all down for you in simple terms and make it very easy to understand.

Beachbody Coach Ranks – What The Difference?

There are 3 different Beachbody Coach ranks, Emerald, Ruby , and Diamond.  To make my explanation simple, lets assume that whenever I mention a personally sponsored Coach, the Coach has signed up on Shakeology HD, which would make them an active Coach. Because if you sponsor someone into the business, and they never buy anything, or sell anything, they would be considered inactive and not be relevant or affect the rankings anyhow.

For a Beachbody Coach to reach Emerald status, they need to sponsor 2 other active Coaches into the business, 1 in their left leg, and one in their right leg. That is all is takes to reach Emerald status.

To reach Ruby, a Coach need to personally sponsor 4 Coaches total, 2 in their left leg, and 2 in their right leg, 2 out of the four need to be Emerald themselves, and the 2 Emeralds need to be in different legs.

To move up in the Beachbody Coach ranks to Diamond, A Coach needs to meet the same requirements for Ruby, plus have 4 more, * total, personally sponsored Coaches, 2 in each leg, which would to come to a total of 4 in each leg, with 1 out those being Emerald in each leg.

Beachbody Coach Ranks Explained – Benefits and Differences

So from the image above you should be able to easily tell how to move up the Beachbody Coach ranks, but whats the difference? Why is being Diamond better than Emerald?

The main difference between the between the Beachbody Coach ranks is the cycle bonus each rank gets. I won’t go into detail on what a cycle bonus is because that can be a whole post by itself (you can read about cycle bonuses here), so I will break it down like this:

Cycle Bonus Amounts

• Emerald – $14/cycle
• Ruby – $16/cycle
• Diamond – $18/cycle

The cycle bonus amount a Coach earns depends on what rank they are, and because it is possible to cycles dozens of times a day, the difference could potentially be significant.

Another big difference between the Beachbody Coach ranks is the maximum amount they can earn in cycle bonuses. Here is the breakdown:

Cycle Bonus Max

• Emerald -$250/week
• Ruby – $1000/week
• Diamond – $2000/week
• Star Diamond – +$1000/week (for every Star you achieve, the max goes up $1000 and maxes out at 10 Star Diamond or $12,000/week)

So from the numbers listed above, you can see that an Emerald Coach can only earn up to $250 a week in cycle bonuses, so if you are thinking about becoming a Beachbody Coach, you should have your goal set at Diamond and above right from the start. It will take you some time to get there, but with hard work and persistence it can be done.

The point I am trying to make is that being a Beachbody Coach is not a get rich quick scheme. To be successful as a Beachbody Coach you will need to treat it as a real business and not just a hobby. While the “average” person will fail at this business, it is possible for anyone to learn, grow, and develop into the type of person they need to be to be successful. In fact, this is the case for most of us. We start out new in the business and have no idea what to do or where to begin. But, those of us that are motivated, and are willing to spend the time to acquire the skills and abilities needed to be successful in this business can be successful. These are skills that can be learned by anyone that has the desire to learn them.

With that being said, I will go into some specifics on what to expect as a Beachbody Coach. As a new Coach, don’t expect to make a lot of money from the start. In the early days of being a Coach, the majority of the income you will earn will come from your retails sales. A Beachbody Coach earns a 25% commission on all of the products they sell, so really it depends on how many sales you can make.

As you are building a team, you will also earn cycle bonuses. Being able to earn cycle bonuses on the volume created within your organization is where the “big” income potential lies. Think about it, this is where leverage comes into play. As 1 Beachbody Coach, you only able to sell a certain amount of products. But if you have hundreds, even thousands of Coaches in your organization, you can earn money from all of the volume being created in your organization. And because there is no limit to the amount of Coaches that can be in your organization, the income potential is virtually unlimited.

The concept behind the team building process is something I think a lot of Coaches ignore or don’t put enough emphasis on. Every Beachbody Coach starts out with zero Coaches in their organization, and I think it is hard to imagine hundreds or even thousands of Coaches under them. Building a team is a slow process and starts by sponsoring 2 Coaches into the business. I think many Coaches don’t have a true belief that they can really have hundreds of Coaches below them, so they never sponsor anyone. It is important to  ’THINK BIG ‘ and get started by sponsoring 2 other Coaches into the business. Getting the first couple of Coaches under you is the hardest part, but eventually you will have 10, 20, and even 100 under you. Eventually you reach a point where it starts to snowball out of control. It make take a year to get a 100 Coaches under you, but as time goes by, your organization will be growing by 100 every week. It is important to understand how this all works and the concepts behind network marketing and the power exponential growth.

So in a nutshell, in any network marketing business, you can expect to work a lot for a little in the early days, and as time goes by, you will be able to work a little for a lot. As a Beachbody Coach, expect to work very hard for a few years before you start to see big checks coming in. But once they start coming in, they don’t stop and all of the hard work you’ve put in will be worth it.

If you treat this as a real business, and are willing to put in the effort and time it takes to learn the things you will need to know, and acquire the skills and abilities needed to succeed, you will succeed. Instead of saying, “I ll give this thing a try”, go in saying, “I will do everything and anything possible to build my Beachbody business”.

Having the right mindset and understanding the business model are 2 huge factors that will help you succeed as a Beachbody Coach. If you have the right mindset and determination, and follow the Beachbody Coach Game Plan on a consistent day to day basis, your success is guaranteed. After all, it is impossible to fail at this business, the only way to fail is to quit.
