Tough Mudder Training

Tough Mudder Training

Have you signed up for the Tough Mudder or are thinking about signing up for the Tough Mudder and want to know how you can plan your Tough Mudder training? If so, you’re in the right place. 2 days ago I completed the Tough Mudder and my body is incredibly sore as I type this, although I kind of expected it too be much worse. The Tough Mudder was hard, but I expected to drop to knees as I crossed the finished line, which wasn’t the case.

Tough Mudder Training – Where To Start

Giving specific Tough Mudder training advice is nearly impossible, there are so many variables involved with this course that you will need to be in the best possible shape that you can. There are no “Tough Mudder training” specific exercises per se.

Running – Every Tough Mudder event is 10-12 miles long, which in my opinion, is far. I’m in decent shape, but I’m not much of a runner so the biggest focus of my Tough Mudder training was distance running. 2 months prior to the event I ran 2-3 times a week while also doing P90x2 workout. I ran anywhere from 3-5 miles, and I’d stop and walk at times to catch my breath. I was a little concerned that I’d run out of gas during the Tough Mudder because in my training, I was out of breathe usually around the 3 mile mark.

If you can run 5 miles without stopping, you’ll be ready for the Tough Mudder. The running was actually the easy part. From my experience, there were many times throughout the event that I had to stop and wait at an obstacle. There were so many people that the obstacles often got backed up and I had to wait a few minutes. This gave me a few minutes to catch my breath. And with 25 obstacles, this provided for a lot of short breaks.

Tough Mudder Training – Best Combination

A great Tough Mudder training combination would be start P90x 90 days before the event, and mix in some distance running a few times a week. The Tough Mudder requires strength and a high overall fitness level, which P90x is perfect for. Not only will you be ready for the Tough Mudder, but you will probably be in the best shape of your life.

In addition to P90x, you will want to add some distance running into your Tough Mudder training schedule. You can easily fit 3 runs a week into the P90x schedule. One option can be to go for a short run on the same day as the Chest & Back P90x workouts, then replace the Kenpo X routine with a run, and go for a run on you rest day. It will be tough, but it is doable and will be the best way to prepare for the Tough Mudder.

But I don’t have 90 days for Tough Mudder training!…What should I do?

If you don’t have 90 days to prepare for the Tough Mudder, don’t worry, you’ll be able to get ready in 60 days. I think Insanity would also be a great way to prepare for the Tough Mudder. Insanity will work on your cardio and your strength, which will be what you need to be able to make through the Tough Mudder. If you follow the Insanity workout exactly as it is laid out and use only that for your Tough Mudder training, you’ll be in great shape on the day of the event.

If you’ve done the Tough Mudder, leave a comment below letting us know how you did and how you trained, we’d love to hear from you.

Is Insanity Worth It

Is Insanity Worth It

Is Insanity Worth It

Because I am a Beachbody Coach and have used most of the products, people often ask me my opinion before they make a purchase. F0r example, a friend of mine asked me the other day, “is Insanity worth it?”

And my reply was, “worth what?”

To me, “is Insanity worth it?’, is kind of a strange and vague question. But I have a very simple and to the question, yes, Insanity is definitely worth the price, which is what I’m assuming, “it”, is referring to. Insanity is a challenging workout and it takes effort to get through the workout each day. If you want results fast, it isn’t going to be easy. There is no magic pill or special diet that will get you results. Results come from hard work and persistence. If you aren’t willing to put in the effort required, Insanity may not be worth it to you.

Is Insanity Worth It? – Ask Jonathan

If you ask Jonathan, from the video above the same question, “is Insanity worth it?”, what do think he is going to tell you. Of course he is going to tell that it is worth it, look at the results he got. Jonathan gained muscle mass, went from 19% body fat down to 9%, and now  is ripped and look like an action figure. Congratulations on having such great results Jonathan.

So Is Insanity Worth It? – You Be The Judge

Insanity comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, so if you try it for a few weeks and decide you don’t like or that its just not for you, send back and get a full refund of the purchase price. I highly doubt you will be sending it back. At $120, the price of Insanity is very reasonable. With Insanity, it is as if you’re working out with a personal trainer right in your own home, if you were to pay Shaun T, or any personal trainer to come to your house and spend an hour with you 6 days a week, you’d end up spending thousands of dollars.

It is important to realize that Insanity is not just a workout DVD, it is 10 separate workout DVDs. So if you do a price breakdown per workout, you are only paying $12 per workout. If you were to ask the thousands of people that have already achieved great results with Insanity, “Is Insanity worth it?”, they’d for sure tell you yes. In fact, Beachbody could raise the price to $199 and it still would be worth it. Order Insanity today and try it out for yourself.

Is Insanity Too Hard?

Is Insanity Too HardOne of the most common questions I’m asked from people that are not in the greatest shape is, “is Insanity too hard?” If you’ve seen the infomercial or any clips somewhere online, it can be intimidating. The moves are intense, people are dripping in sweat, and Shaun T is hovering over them screaming at them to “digg deep”. If you are someone that has not exercised in awhile, I can understand why you might have second thoughts.

So Is Insanity Too Hard?

It is hard for me to answer this question generally, the answer really depends on each individual. But, fro my experience, I would say no, Insanity is a workout that anyone can do, even if you are overweight and out of shape. The reason that anyone can do Insanity is simple, if you get exhausted and out of breath during the workouts, just take a short break to get catch your breath, then jump right back in. Shaun T even mentions this in videos during the workouts and encourages people to take breaks when they need them. If you are tired and can’t maintain the proper form of the exercise, it’s time to take a break.

If you think you are out of shape, chances are that you will not be bale to make it through the entire Insanity workout without taking a break. You may even have trouble getting through the warm up. This is completely fine and is expected. Don’t get discouraged because you need to take breaks, especially when starting out. If you can get through the an entire workout on your first day, it is too easy.

Track your progress by constantly taking less breaks. Always push your limits and lessen the number of breaks you take, and the duration of your break. On your first week of your Insanity workout you might find yourself resting for 15-20 minutes out of the entire 35 minute workout. Work at lowering that resting time each and every workout and you will be shocked at how much you will have improved in only 60 days. It is important to realize that results don’t happen overnight, these things take time.

Get the question, “is Insanity too hard?” out of your head and just take action and get started. Below is a video of an Insanity review by Felicia. Felicia is 34 years old, was overweight, and admits to not being able to do one push up before starting Insanity. Felicia didn’t ask, is Insanity too hard? She just got started and did here best. You can see in the video that she had amazing results and lost a total of 37 pounds.

Is Insanity Too Hard? – No, Just Do Your Best

Insanity Workout

A few nights ago Shaun T appeared on the Conan O’Brien show to promote his Insanity and Hip Hop Abs workout. Shaun T received a great introduction from Conan who introduced him as a world-renowned fitness instructor whose workouts have sold over 3 million copies worldwide. During the interview Shaun T talks about the secret behind his Insanity workout, which is max interval training, and he explains what it is and why it gets results. Shaun T also talks about his Hip Hop Abs workout and how it will give you a tight midsection without doing any sit-ups or crunches.

The segment is actually pretty funny and entertaining. I’m not usually up that late so I have never really watched the Conan Show, but it seems like it could be funny. Eventually Shaun T and Conan get up and demonstrate some of the moves from Insanity and Hip Hop Abs and of of course Shaun T lifts his shirt to show off his abs. Conan is a good sport during the demonstrations and again is being kind of funny by dancing around and being silly. Below is a video clip of  Shaun T’s appearance on the Conan Show.

Getting this kind of exposure is great for Beachbody, which is the company that is behind Shaun T’s workout videos and also the very popular P90x workout program. As a Beachbody Coach (distributor), getting this kind of exposure makes my job much easier. It creates brand awareness and makes explaining the products I sell much easier and even eliminates the explaining part at times. Most people have heard if P90x and Insanity, they have seen the infomercial or know of a friend that has done it. By the time I talk to a potential customer, they have already heard of it and want it, they seek me out versus me chasing them.

This is why Beachbody’s home business opportunity is the best out there. None of these “other” companies seems to be getting the kind of exposure that Beachbody does. The reason behind the publicity and exposure is simple, Beachbody puts out a great product that people love and people talk about. When someone loses 50 pounds with P90x, of course it is going o be talked one way or another.

Ceci Was A $1000 Beachbody Challenger Winner

Ceci Won $1000 In The Beachbody Challenge

Congratulations to Ceci P., from Puerto Rico. Ceci lost 117 pounds with the P90x and Insanity workout, and by drinking Shakeology and the P90x Recovery Drink.  Ceci’s before and after pictures look like a totally different person. Ceci had amazing results and is an inspiration to us all. She is one of the 10 $1000 Beachbody Challenge winners for the month of October.

As a Beachbody Coach, I’m often asked what workout program I would recommend for individuals and my answer always depends on the person. It depends on their current fitness level and what their goals are. Normally, I would think twice about recommending P90x to start out with for a 237 pound woman. P90x is an intense workout and is challenging even for someone that is in good shape. But Ceci’s results are making me rethink my opinions when recommending a workout program.  Just because someone is a hundred pounds overweight, doesn’t mean that they won’t be able to do P90x, Ceci is perfect proof of that.

P90x is a workout program that can be done by anyone at any fitness level. It is great because the moves and exercises can be modified to the individual’s fitness level, which is why everyone who follows the P90x workout program will see results.

Congratulation again to Ceci! I have a feeling she will be in the running for the Beachbody Challenge $5000 quarterly prize, and even the $100,000 grand finale prize.

Ronnie Does The Insanity Workout

Ronnie Does The Insanity Workout

Although I hate to admit it, I’ve seen the hit MTV show, Jersey Shore, on more than one occasion. There is something about the show that makes it hard to turn off. I’m sure you have also seen it, don’t lie, you know you watch it…lol. The vigorous schedule the cast members of Jersey Shore follow while on the show is GTL, which, for the uninitiated, stands for Gym, Tan, and laundry. The typical day of a Jersey Shore cast member consists of going to the gym, then tanning, then picking up their laundry so they can have fresh clean clothes for a night out at the club, what a tough life to have.

The entire cast of Jersey Shore is pretty good shape, although it wouldn’t hurt for Deena to lose a few pounds. In the latest season of the show, which took place in Italy, there was no gym close for them to go to, so it kind of screwed up their GTL routine. I thought to myself, they need P90x, or Insanity in that house.

One of the cast members from Jersey Shore is jumping on the Beachbody bandwagon. The “juicehead gorilla”, Ronnie, recently tweeted that he just bought the Insanity workout. I can’t wait to hear what kind of results he gets with Insanity. As a Beachbody Coach, it is always nice to hear the products I promote being mentioned in the media.

The Cast members of Jersey Shore reportedly made $100,000 per episode for past season, which is some serious cheese. With that kind of money, Ronnie could easily afford to pay for a nice spacious home gym, with all kinds of fancy equipment and machines, and have a personal trainer work with him at his own home. Yet he still decided to buy Insanity. Insanity is a intense workout that gets results and that can be done anywhere, without any equipment. It makes sense that people will choose to do a workout program like P90x or Insanity, by themselves, in the comfort of their own home. With a busy schedule, travel time to the gym can add up to at least a half hour round trip, but is usually longer than that. Add that up over a course of a week and you are starting to get into hours of your time, wasted just on travel time to the gym. It makes sense for busy celebrities, (if you’d call Ronnie a celebrity or not is debatable), to workout at home or on the road with Insanity. Follow the Insanity program and you’re guaranteed to get results.

In the past few years since I first became a Beachbody Coach, I’ve seen P90x go from an unknown infomercial product to a very popular household anme. It seems as if everyone has at least heard of P90x, knows someone that is doing it, or have even done it themselves. The rise of P90x’s popularity doesn’t surprise me, it is truly a great workout program that produces results. In fact, it is hard to find any negative reviews of P90x anywhere on the internet, which is rare for any product. People love to share their negative experience and complain about things, but you can’t find any of that from people that have used P90x.

Beachbody, the company behind P90x, may have another workout winner with Insanity. Insanity is a 60 day workout program that is guaranteed to get in you the best shape of your, or as the infomercial says, “Your Money Back”. Insanity is said to be the hardest workout ever put on DVD. I’m currently doing Insanity right now myself and can attest to the difficulty level of the workout, it is tough.

As with P90x, Insanity is becoming more and more popular as word gets out about what kind of results it produces. Celebrities have even taken notice and our jumping on the Beachbody bandwagon. Recently, musician and actress, Demi Lovato tweeted about her Insanity workout. This is what her tweet said;

“Just did the Insanity workout DVD… Amazing.. So intense but I loved it!!!”

Celebrities and athletes have the money to spend on big name personal trainers and fancy exercise equipment, but many still choose to workout with a Beachbody workout program. The reason makes sense, Beachbody’s workouts produce results and that is the bottom line.

Audra’s Insanity Workout Results Video

Audra had  awesome results with Shaun T’s 60 day Insanity workout. In her video, she shows how after 60 days, she is able to slide off what used to be her “skinny jeans”, without unbuttoning or unzipping them, which I must admit, is kind of sexy to watch. There is just something about watching a girl take her pants down that men innately find sexy …anyhow, I’m going way off track now and I hope my fiancée doesn’t read this…lol.  Audra was surprised at the total transformation of her entire body she achieved with the Insanity workout. She says her legs are in the best shape of her entire life.
