I finally found time to watch Shaun T’s appearance on the Dr. Oz show and I thought it was very good. Shaun T was introduced and given credit for getting thousands people in shape with his hit workout DVDs. Shaun T went on to say that he does not believe in diets, they simply don’t work. If you go on a diet, you’ll eventually go off the diet and it is inevitable that you’ll gain the weight that you lost back. Instead of a diet, if you really want to lose weight, you need to make a lifestyle change and commit to it on a daily basis, everyday, for the rest of your life. That may sound a little extreme, but once you create these healthy habits for yourself, they are easy to stick to.

On the show, Shaun T gave some tips on how to eat healthy and below is what he recommends to eat for your 3 daily meals:

Breakfast:

  • 40% Carbs
  • 30% Protein
  • 30% Fat

Lunch:

  • 25% Carbs
  • 45% Protein
  • 30% Fat

Dinner:

  • 15% Carbs
  • 55% Protein
  • 30% Fat

As you can see from the recommended percentages above, fat stays the same for every meal. The concept behind this recommendation is to taper off your carb consumption throughout the day.

Shaun T also recommended that whenever possible, do not eat anything that can be on your shelf for more than week. For example, eating fresh fruit is much better than eating a fruit in the packaged cups that usually have a shelf life of at least 6 months. The fruit cups are filled with sugar a preservatives that aren’t good for your body.

Shaun T referred to sweet potatoes as a “miracle food” and said they should be consumed every day. They are filled with things  that are great for the body. If you want to proof, just look at Shaun T, he says he eats them everyday.

Shaun T then went on to demonstrate some moves from his Insanity workout. As usual, Dr. Oz was a good sport and participated in the exercises and also a girl from the crowd also participated…in heels.

Which Is Better, P90x Or Insanity?

P90x VS. InsanityIf you are considering an intense workout program to do at home, you’ve probably considered the P90x exercise program, or Insanity. Both workouts are getting great reviews and producing awesome results for millions of people. But which one is actually better, P90x or Insanity?

This is a very tough question because P90x and Insanity are 2 totally different workouts. Trying to compare them is like trying to compare Ferrari to a Lamborghini, they’re both friggin sweet.

To help you choose which workout program is best for you, you will have to determine what your over fitness goals are. In short, P90x is a total body workout that focuses on building muscle or toning up, gaining strength, and flexibilty. Insanity is also a total body workout that focuses on toning up, and increasing cardio and endurance.

So which program is best for you, P90x or Insanity? The answer really depends on the particular individual and his or her fitness goals are. From my experience, I would recommend starting out with a 90 day round of P90x, and after a short break, do a round of Insanity. After you’ve done both, you can create a hybrid of both workouts and plan a normal routine of working out 3-4 times a week.
