There is no doubt that P90x produces results. Millions of users will tell you that after doing 90 days of the P90x exercise program, they are in the best shape of their lives.
What sets P90x apart from other workout programs and weight loss products is that the creators admit it is a tough program. There are no lies of easy weight loss, no catch phrases like “lose 70 pounds in 7 days”, and no promises of amazing abs working out only 3 minutes a day. P90x is a rigourous program that is very time consuming. This is why it works. There are no shortcuts when it comes to losing weight, it takes good ol fashioned “pumpin and a sweatin”, or in other words, hard work.
P90x promises results as your long as your willing to put in the work. The program consists of 12 different workouts. Plan on devoting a hour and 15 minutes a day on average. Most of the workouts are a little under an hour long, but when combined with the ab ripper x workout, which is part of the schedule, you will end up working out for about an hour and 15 minutes most days. The yoga x workout is the exception. It is 90 minutes long, which can be tough to fit in our schedules, but if you want results, you have to sacrifice. If you have a demanding work schedule, a good idea would be plan for your yoga x workouts to fall on the weekend or on a day where you are the least busiest.
The P90x workout program also consists of doing a workout 6 days a week, with the seventh day as an optional stretching day. P90x has a DVD devoted to an entire hour of stretching. I’ve done stretch x quite a few times and can honstly say that I love it and recommend it. P90x will make you sore and stretching on that 7th day of every week is a great way to stay loose and help your muscles recover. Your muscles will need all the help they can get with recovering during the 90 days you are doing the program.
Another huge part of the P90x exercise program is the nutrition plan. Proper eating and nutrition is a very important part of the program and you will want to follow it as closely as possible to achieve the best results possible. The nutrition plan is a detailed, comprehensive meal plan for you to follow. For me, eating properly was just as hard, maybe harder, than the actual workouts. I was typically a bad eater, eating fast food, pop, chips, ice cream, and just junk food in general often. During P90x, I did my best to try to eat as clean as possible and this help changed my eating habits even after the 90 days was up. One thing to keep in mind that this program is not just 90 days, it turns into a lifestyle that you will want to keep up. After 90 days, you will want to take a recovery week or 2, but then the workouts continue. You won’t need to workout everyday, but to continue to see results or to just maintain your results you’ll want to do a workout 3-4 times a week.
