My P90x Review Day 49 Plyometrics

Plyometrics Legs

Plyometrics Is The Cure For Chicken Legs

Today was day 49 of my P90x workout and the workout for today was Plyometrics. Tony Horton, the creator of P90x call this “the mother” of all P90x workouts. It is definitely a tough workout but I am much better at it now than I was the first few times I did it. The first couple of weeks I did plyometrics I had to pause the DVD several times to catch my breath. Now I’m able to keep up with the video. Plyometrics is more of a cardio routine, you’ll get your heart rate up and keep it the entire time. If I can remember correctly there are only 4, 30 second breaks the entire hour, well about 48 minutes if you don’t include the 10 minute warm up. At the end of the plyometrics workout, I am always pouring in sweat.

P90x Ab Ribber X Abs

I Bet She Uses P90x Ab Ripper X

Yesterday was day 48 of my P90x workout. It was supposed to be the start of my recovery week but since I screwed up my P90x schedule on weeks 5 and 6 I decided to add another week to this phase before I do the recovery week. I screwed up weeks 5 and 6 by doing the lean P90x schedule instead of the classic schedule so I was missing the back and biceps workout those 2 weeks. It is probably not that big of a deal, like I said, I am going to try to make up for it by adding a week to this phase.

The workout for today was chest, shoulders, and triceps, followed by ab ripper x. I like this workout a lot. I can really feel it in my triceps. By the end of this workout I can barely do a push up and my arms feel like jello. I did the workout almost 24 hours ago and my arms still feel fatigued. The P90x chest, shoulders, and triceps workout is made up of a lot of push ups,  shoulder presses, and tricep extensions. There are 24 different exercises total in this workout and they hit the targeted muscles from every angle imaginable. The P90x chest, shoulders, and triceps DVD is a great workout.

After the chest, shoulders, and triceps workout was ab ripper x. I’ve gotten a lot better in the 7 weeks I’ve been doing ab ripper x. I remember the first time I did it I struggled through the entire workout and wasn’t even close to keeping up with the video and wasn’t doing all the reps they were doing. I’m pretty much there now, I’m able to keep up and complete all the reps. I think I wrote in my first post that my goal in the 90 days was to just be able to keep up with the ab ripper x video, I’m already there in only half the time.  :)

My P90x Review Days 45, 46, and 47

P90x WorkoutYesterday and the day before were very busy for me so I’m just getting to my P90x review posts now. Day 45 of my P90x workout was legs and back, followed by ab ripper x. The P90x legs and back is a very tiring workout. It consists of various forms of lunges and pull ups. The lunge sets have very high reps which is what tires me out. I’m not sure if I like this workout that much. I’d rather stack a bunch of weights on a bar and do 3 sets of 8 reps of squats or deadlifts. But I guess the point of P90x is to change up the workout, confuse the muscles, and keep the body from plateauing.

Day 46 was supposed to be the Kenpo X workout. Kenpo is a cardio workout made up of punches and kicks. It is my least favorite workut and I usually substitute it with a session muay thai kick boxing or jiu-jitsu. I take both classes at a local gym near my house, www.WarriorWay.com. It is sometimes hard to find time do workout and get to a martial arts class, but I’ve been doing my best and am not going to the classes as much while I do P90x.

Today is 47 of P90x and it is the rest or stretch option day, I’m choosing to rest. :)

P90x Goes Political On Us!

In a recent interview, Congressman Paul Ryan talks about how he stays in shape with P90x and leads workout sessions with his colleagues. The politician talks about the P90x workouts and why they are so effective. Paul even talked about how Tony Horton, the creator of P90x comes to Washington D.C. every couple months to train with them. Paul obviously wasn’t paid to mention P90x and speak so highly of it, he genuinely loves it because it produces results.  P90x is becoming more and more popular each day. If it isn’t already, P90x will definitely be a household name in a very short time.

P90x Day 44 Yoga X

Doing A Hard P90x Pose

Me Doing A Tough P90x Yoga Pose

Today is day 44 of my P90x workout. The workout for today was yoga x. I think I’ve hit a plateau with this workout. The very first time I did it I remember it being super hard. I got a little bit better each time I did it over the past few weeks but today seemed just as tough as it was a few weeks ago. This is a tough workout but I like it. I can tell that it is helping with my flexibility and is even improving my performance in my jiu-jitsu classes. I feel kind of funny about posting this picture of myself doing yoga on here, I know for sure my friends are going to make fun of me. Here I am doing one of the more difficult yoga poses of the P90x workout. In the picture you can see the Nintendo Wii box that I use as a Yoga block.   :)

P90x Works For A 45 Year Old Mother Of 7

There are a lot of girls that are wondering if P90x would be too hard, intense, or extreme for them. I’ll admit, the infomercial can make it seem a little scary. In the infomercial you’ll see people doing all kinds of pull ups and crazy push ups where they throw themselves into the air, these are some tough moves. But don’t worry, almost everyone starts out barely able to do 1 pull up. You are able to start off by using the resistance bands or doing a pull up with the help of a chair. Most women don’t have the upper body strength that men have so they will probably start out doing push up on their knees. You have to work your way up to the tougher moves and that takes time. The best part about P90x is that it accommodates everyone and they show all the variations in the video so there is no guess work.  Using P90x really is like having a personal trainer in your own home working out right there with you.

So ladies, there is no reason to be scared and to think P90x will be too hard for you. Check out the video below of Michele. She is a 45 year old mother of seven who has had great success with P90x. Here are Michele’s P90x before and after pictures.

P90x Mother of 7 Before And AfterP90x Mother of 7 Before And After

-This is what Michele had to say about P90x:

“I am the happy mother of seven wonderful kids. Yes, I mean, this stomach has been stretched out to here seven times. And having that many pregnancies was really hard on my body. Now I hadn’t taken good care of myself in years. Sitting up that night, I came across the P90X infomercial again. I realized that I was watching the same infomercial for the third time, and I decided that if I had time to sit and do that, then I had some time to exercise. I love P90X. The workouts are so varied. Every day, I get to do something different . . . And Tony is such a great trainer. He talks you through everything. He helps you modify the moves if you’re not up to them yet. He motivates you and challenges you to just do your best. I have to admit I wasn’t really excited about changing my diet, but I found that following the nutrition plan was so much easier than what I thought it was gonna be. When I started working my body harder, it started asking me for better things to eat. And changing my diet really became more of a natural transition . . . Ladies, don’t be afraid of muscle. If you want a youthful shape that fights gravity and burns extra calories 24/7, you need to build muscle. That’s what’s gonna do it for you.”

P90x Day 43 Back and Biceps, Ab Ripper X

Today was day 43 of my P90x workout. The workout for today was back and biceps followed by ab ripper X. This was the first time I did this workout I am a upset that I have been missing it. I’ve written in earlier posts that I was looking at the wrong schedule for a few weeks and doing the P90x lean schedule. The back and biceps workout is not in the lean schedule, at least not for weeks 5-7 so that is why I was missing it. The back and biceps workout is basically a workout made up of pull ups and curls. I did a wide variety of different types of curls and pulls and by the end my arms were exhausted. I wonder if my biceps are going to be sore tomorrow. Is it even possible for biceps to be sore? I don’t think mine have ever been. Anyhow, I like this workout, my forearms and biceps are still throbbing even as I write this.

After the back and bicep workout was ab ripper x. I don’t have much to say about ab ripper x that i haven’t already said in earlier posts. It’s tough, but I’m getting better :)

P90x Day 42 Plyometrics

Yesterday was day 42 of my P90x workout and the workout I did was plyometrics. It had been 3 weeks since I’ve done this workout because I mis-read the P90x schedule. I somehow looked at the lean P90x schedule and was doing that for weeks 5 and 6. I should have been doing plyometrics  along. Plyometrics is a tough and tiring workout. By the end I was pouring in sweat and I normally don’t sweat that much during my workouts. I think the reason I don’t sweat that much is because my basement is freezing and I usually start the workout with a hooded sweatshirt on. Anyhow, I was definitely sweating during plyometrics and my shirt was soaked all the way through. I think I might have to extend this phase of the workout since I messed up by going on the lean schedule. Maybe instead of doing a three week phase I will do a four week phase before the recovery week. The classic workouts are a lot tougher and more intense than the lean P90x workouts.

P90x Chest Shoulders And Triceps

P90x Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps

Day 40 of P90x was a rest or stretch day, I chose to rest. Day 41 is today and I realized I messed up the past 2 weeks. I somehow got on the P90x lean schedule and was doing the wrong workouts. It is probably not that big of a deal but I think the lean schedule is a little bit less intense and may be geared more for women. The difference between the lean and the classic is 2 workouts. I was doing core synergistics and cardio x, when I was supposed to be doing plyometrics and back and biceps and ab ripper x. I have still not done the back and biceps workout, but I am sure that one and plyometrics are a little bit tougher and more intense than the cardio x and core synergistics workout. I found those 2 to be pretty easy and shorter than the rest. Well it was only 2 weeks, I’ll figure out a way to make up for it.

S0 back to day, day 41 of my P90x workout was chest, shoulders, and triceps followed by ab ripper x. I like this workout, it leaves you with your arms burning. I feel like this workout really focuses on the triceps, mine are always in pain when this workout is done, a good pain. After the chest, shoulders, and triceps workout was ab ripper x. It was tough as usual but I try to push myself a little harder each time. One other thing that I noticed was that the P90x lean schedule only has 2 days of ab ripper x where as the classic schedule has 3 days. So the past 2 weeks I missed 2 ab ripper x workouts because I made the mistake of somehow looking at the lean schedule.

Jodi’s P90x Success Story

This is Jodi’s P90x story. Apparently there was a rumor going around about her that she was pregnant. Jodi wasn’t pregnant and when she heard about the rumor she was embarrassed and insulted. She decided it was time to make a change. Jodi first saw the P90x infomercial and said, “it’s an infomercial, these people are actors”. Because there is a 90 day money back guarantee with P90x, Jodi decided to buy it and give it a try for herself. She had amazing results and was very pleased with the results she got from P90x.

P90x ResultsP90x Results

This is what Jodi had to say about P90x. “Before starting the P90X program, I was extremely lazy. It really didn’t dawn on me that I had a problem until I heard about a rumor that was going around about me that I must be pregnant. I of course was not pregnant, and it was a very hard blow. Right around that time is when my husband started watching the P90X infomercial . . . It’s a money-back guarantee, so we went ahead and decided to order it. And I gotta tell ya, it’s the best thing that we’ve ever done . . . I started seeing my results around the 30-day mark. My pants were about an inch to two inches too big. Then I saw greater results at 60 days, and then I was just blown away by my 90-day results. I could not believe what I was seeing, from day 1 compared to day 90 . . . It’s a lifetime change for me. I’m not gonna quit. I’m gonna stick with it. I love the results, and I’m never going back to that person that I was before.”
