Daniel Negreanu Does P90x

Professional poker player Daniel Negreanu is the latest addition to the list of celebrities that do P90x. While Poker many not officially be considered a “sport”, which is debatable, it is still covered highly on ESPN and Fox Sports. Also, the 12 hour poker tournaments that Daniel Negreanu often cashes in, can be physically and mentally grueling. With millions of dollars at stake it only makes sense be in the best shape you can while playing poker, this is why Daniel has been doing P90x.

In one of Daniel’s recent blog post at www.CardPlayer.com,  he mentioned his P90x Kenpo workout, this is what he said:

I did Kenpo which is part of the P90X workout I’m doing and it’s the funnest one for sure but still gets you sweating pretty hard.

Daniel Negreanu has made some serious money playing poker. At the World Series of Poker alone, As of May 2010, his total live tournament winnings from the are recorded at $12,583,677, second on the all time money list. His 43 cashes at the WSOP account for $3,309,349 of those winnings. He is also the leading money winner on the World Poker Tour circuit. With the amount of money Daniel has made, he could easily afford to have a personal trainer workout with him on a daily basis, but he still chooses to use P90x. Why? Because it works.

So what do you think? Is poker a sport?

A few months ago I made a blog post about Cammie Lusk and her amazing success with P90x (see post here). Cammie recently won $25,000 in Beachbody’s Million Dollar by game with her great results and her story was recently featured at www.KETV.com. Congratulations Cammie! Awesome Job!

Woman Says Workouts Loosened Disease’s Grip

A woman diagnosed with a progressive form of multiple sclerosis has credited an exercise video with putting her in the best shape of her life.

For someone who never thought she’d walk again, Cammie Lusk has made huge strides. Until a year ago, Lusk was confined to a wheelchair.

“I’m laying in bed, I go to get out of bed and I can’t get out bed and I would have to have my husband pick me up and put me into that wheelchair,” she said.

In 1998, Lusk’s life changed. At 28, and with young children, doctors diagnosed her and didn’t have much hope.
“When I turned 40, I’d be in a nursing home,” Lusk said.

Within three years, she couldn’t walk, play with her children or get out of bed by herself. She slipped deeper and deeper into depression.

“I look in the mirror and my eyes are dead. I get into the bathroom and my eyes are dead because I was beaten — that disease beat me,” Lusk said.

Her husband said the family struggled with her.

“I became extremely overweight — asthma, heart problems, chest pains, normal everyday things were slowly taking their toll on me,” said Dan Lusk.

Then an infomercial caught his attention.

For him, it was like the P90x and its founder Tony Horton were speaking directly to him.
The infomercial showed a workout program that touted results in 90 days, results that would transform bodies and lives. Dan ordered it.

“I did it for me because I didn’t like the person I had become,” he said.

He started his rigorous workouts. His children soon joined. Lusk watched from her wheelchair. Dan kept encouraging her to join.

“Dan was saying, ‘Do this, you can do this. Come on, come here — you can do this,’” Lusk said.

They began working out every day as a family. She gained strength in her arms and then her legs.

They replaced e-mails with healthy shakes, and the weight came off — 76 pounds within a year.

With the weight loss came a desire to prove her diagnosis wrong. She went from 45 prescriptions to just one.

Lusk spends time out of her wheelchair and is determined to walk again.

“And that is when I knew MS didn’t have me anymore, I had me, and I can do this,” she said. The disease loosened its grip.

‘”We always looked back at the times when we were dating and first married, and those were the best times of our marriage,” Dan said. “Not anymore — every day becomes the best time of our marriage.”

The family’s story has already inspired hundreds, including the company that produces the P90x.

Lusk recently won the company’s transformation challenge, and received $25,000.

Carl Daikeler, the CEO of BeachBody, sent this statement to KETV NewsWatch 7:

“When we created P90X, Shakeology and our Beachbody distributor network, I would not have guessed a woman in Cammie’s condition would inspire people so deeply. More than the person who lost 100 pounds or the guy who looks like a body builder, Cammie demonstrates that anyone with the right tools and the right attitude can achieve amazing things. She inspires me.”

P90x And Insanity Workout Sheets

Need New P90x or Insanity Workout Sheets?

P90x Workout SheetsKeeping track of your progress is a big part of any workout program, especially P90x and Insanity. By keeping track of the amount of weight you used, and the number of reps you’ve completed with good form, you will be able to track your progress and this will also be able to make a note on if you need to use lighter or heavier weight next time you do the workout. Also remember that I said keep track of the number of reps you completed with good form, it doesn’t matter how much weight you lift or how many times, if your form is bad you are wasting your time and also risking injury.

90210 Star Jennie Garth Does P90x

Jennie Garth Does P90x

You may remember her as Brenda Walsh’s rival, Kelly Taylor, in the popular 90’s hit show 90210. Now Jennie Garth is back for the 2010 version of the show where she plays the High School Counselor. Jennie still looks amazing and if you were wondering what she is doing to stay in such great shape and young looking, Jennie Garth does P90x.

I found this at www.PeopleStyleWatch.com and this is what Jenny had to say about the P90x Exercise Program:

“Every day is different,” she says. “One day is really hard yoga. Then arms and shoulders, legs, then karate. His (Tony Horton’s) program is made to confuse the muscles so you don’t plateau. I feel better now than I ever have.”

Keep in mind that all of the celebrities doing P90x are not being paid for their glowing reviews, they truly love the workout. This says a lot for Beachbody and P90x, it is the real deal.

I came across an awesome podcast that is done by fellow Beachbody Coach Michael Jones. Michael’s podcast is an Insanity and P90x review. Michael does the workouts and talks about his experiences. He goes in depth and talks specifics on each of the workouts, how difficult or easy they were, how many reps he was able to, and everything else related his workouts. It is a very good podcast for anyone who uses P90x or Insanity, or is thinking about trying one of the workouts out.

If P90x Pull Ups Are Too Hard

Many people have told me they would love to do the P90x exercise program, but are discouraged because P90x involves a lot of pull ups, and they are only able to do a few pull ups, or none at all. If you want to do P90x but are unable to a single pull up, don’t worry, pull ups are tough and that is why Tony Horton has created several different variations for you to follow depending on your fitness level.

A beginner who struggles with pull ups would want to use a chair to assist themselves. There are several ways to use the chair and move it around to make the pull up easier, or more difficult. Once you think you have the chair version mastered, you can do pull up without the chair, and use a shorter range of motion with some kipping. After a few weeks of doing pull ups that way, you’ll eventually be able to move up and do pull ups unassisted with proper form. Don’t worry, pull ups are tough and take time to build up the strength to be able to do even a couple. The resistance bands are also an option and they provide great results.

In the video below, Tony Horton shows and explains exactly how to do all of the pull up variations.

Ashton Kutcher And Demi Moore Do P90x

Ashton Kutcher Uses P90x

Ashton Kutcher and Demi More are newest addition to the list of celebrities that are doing P90x. Ashton is using p90x to get in shape, apparently he is nervous about taking his shirt off in scenes for his upcoming movie, Killers. Ashton recently tweeted, ” stepping up the work outs to 2 a days. time to get serious. I’m so paranoid about doing scenes with my shirt off.”  From the photo of Asthon on the right right, it looks like he has a lot to be paranoid about, he looks horrible…lol.

Ashton’s wife, and actress, Demi Moore, both who are big time “tweeters”, tweeted a year ago that the couple has been using the P90x exercise program, although Demi had only done the yoga part of the program.

During a press conference, Collider.com reports that Ashton admitted to accidentally knocking out a stuntman and kicking actor Rob Riggle in the face during the fight scenes. Based on what Ashton says, it sounds like the movie is going to have some pretty fantastic action scenes. “My stunt guy went to the hospital twice for jumping through glass. I did jump off a boat and I did most of the fight stuff. I bought one of those DVDs off the TV – those exercise tapes. And I put it in and watched it and got in shape. I did some fight training. I learned Krav Maga, Muay Thai, and Kali, which is a Filipino knife fighting.” In case you’re wondering what Ashton works out to at home, it’s the P90X exercise program.

Brad Davis Does P90x

Brad Davis Does P90x

I recently read an article at espn.com about a professional soccer player for the Houston Dynamos, Brad Davis. The article talks about how Brad is in much better shape this season than he was last season, and after 9 years of being in the league is in the best shape of his career and playing his best soccer. Brad credits his diet change and his new workout routine, which P90x is a part of.

Brad didn’t completely follow the P90x routine, he just took certain workouts from the program and implemented them into his own routine.

This is what Brad Davis had to say, “I’ve never felt better than I do now and I said that last year,” Davis said. “I was 10 pounds heavier [last year]. I see results and I’m more confident. I just think I needed to help the team more. I was helping the team, but as a young guy, I was missing way too many games.

Brad Davis has been added to the list of professional athletes that do P90x. I’m not surprised so many athletes are making P90x part of their workout routine, its simple and it works.

ESPN Reporter Erin Andrews Does P90x

Erin Andrews Does P90x

ESPN reporter, and contestant on Dancing With Stars, Erin Andrews does P90x to stay in shape. Erin has mentioned P90x on more than one occassion. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrasted, Erin uses P90x in a sentence a a verb. Here is her quote, “It’s a different kind of being in shape. There’s really no time to eat because you’re dancing so much. You also don’t want to eat a big meal because you have to dance. So you have to force yourself to eat. And I’m trying to eat a lot because I know I’m burning it off. I feel like I’m a lot slimmer. I feel like I lost the weightlifting kind of muscle because I’m not doing any of that stuff. Before, when I was on the road with college football and college basketball, I would P90X and everything like that with the guys. But I’m not lifting any weights. I’m just longer and leaner.

Erin Andrews also mentioned P90x is US Magazine in the Healthy Lifestyle section. This is what Erin was quoted as saying, “I also did P90X [an exercise DVD set combining plyometrics, martial arts and yoga] with the ESPN guys on the road,” adds the nondieter, who has even begun indulging in desserts and regular Coke (“because it has more calories!”) to stop shrinking.

So if you’ve ever wondered how Erin Andrews stays in great shape, its P90x.

My P90x Results And Review

My P90x Results

My P90x Results (Click To Enlarge)

I must admit that I feel a little funny posting photos of myself shirtless on the internet, but here they are. I also have to admit I was not trying to flex my muscles in the day 1 photos while I was flexing my hardest for the day 90 photos, it makes for a better effect. :)

I finally finished my 90 day P90x workout. I am very happy with the results I achieved. When I first heard about P90x, I said to myself, “I’m not doing a stupid workout video, workout videos are for girls”. I originally got involved with Beachbody because I was interested in the home business opportunity (which is also going very well), but after hearing so many good things about P90x, I decided to give it a try and I’m glad that I did.

P90x is an intense, time consuming program, but I knew I could dedicate an hour a day if I just pushed myself. After the first week, P90x becomes addicting. Surprisingly my favorite P90x workout yoga, it was brand new to me and very hard. Before P90x, I thought yoga was for girls, I was wrong, yoga is very challenging. I didn’t follow the P90x nutrition plan as close as I should have, I did try to cut out as much junk food as possible and raised my protein intake a lot. Proper nutrition is half the battle with this program. I’d recommend P90x to anyone looking to get in shape. After these 90 days, I’m pretty sure I’m in the best shape of my life.
